I have watched the Presidential Debates, I’ve read all I can on the candidates.  I am sickened.  I have listened to family and friends who profess to be Christians, with deep seated values held by prominent denominations.  Yet they still want to vote for a candidate who clearly stands for everything that goes against every Doctrine taught not only by the Lutherans, Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, etc. ( you get the point)  I was meditating on this and asking God how do you talk to people who are liberal, and deeply rooted in the worldly system and yet proclaim to follow your word?  This is the answer I got.  Revelation chapter 18, I am not going to debate what the woman on the beast is, but the system she represents.   “Come out of her my people so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.”  I have skipped around a little in this chapter, but when I read the whole chapter this is what stands out in my mind.    Jesus cautions us in Mathew 16:6  “Be careful, Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”  Perhaps this is what he was talking about.  Then in John 17:14  (Jesus’s prayer for deciples) “the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.”  Jesus warns about clinging to worldly views throughout his ministry, even unto the revelation of Jesus given to John.  So what should we do as Christians?  Who should we vote for?  The answer should be clear.  Yet scales remain on some eyes.  Well I’m listening to John in Revelation 18 and coming out of the liberal world system, lest I go down with it.  What will you do?
