The Apostle Paul, in this verse had just finished speaking to followers of Christ about the coming of the Lord. He was teaching about the rapture, he started off by saying in verse 13; “Brothers we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men who have no hope.” You can read the rest of the chapter because it’s very important! After all that’s what I and other’s like me are trying to prepare everyone for and time is definately getting short. But right now, I want to touch on encouragement. I feel that is a gift also. Again Paul say’d in chapter 5 verse 11 ; “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” Isn’t it wonderful that we have a road map to show us how to live, and the times that we’re living in. How exciting for the desciples to live in the time of Jesus. But it’s just as exciting for us to live in this time of Jesus also! People say Oh we’re not suppose to know when he’s coming, and He’s been coming forever, and there have always been wars and rumors of wars. Blah-de-blah. Peter, and Timothy tell us in the last day’s scoffers will come out in force. And boy have they, even alot of church’s have taken up scoffing like it’s a high paying new job! So don’t be afraid, God is calling His people together, if he’s calling you to speak out, speak out. If he’s calling you to encourage other’s to speak out, then encourage, and definately don’t sit idly by while other’s discourage! It’s time for Christians to unite! We have to come together, fill our lamps, and polish our wedding clothes, for if we don’t when the bridegroom comes, He will shut the door in our face, and say “Sorry I know you not.” I do not want to hear those words. Paul tells us we’re many parts but one body of believers. Let’s start acting like it. So to put it in Paul’s words: “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.” God Bless you all, and remember it doesn’t matter whether, Jesus is coming next Tuesday, or today, or it doesn’t matter what the antichrist’s name will be, what does matter is HE IS COMING, AND HE’S CLOSE, CAN YOU FEEL HIM? Are you ready, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, or rededicate your life to Him, but do it today, because time is short.
