Ben-Ari: Right Bitterly Disappointed in Cease-Fire – Defense/Security – News – Israel National News

“What really happened with the cease fire?  Did obama set out to destroy Netanyahu’s credibility?  Did they just throw Israel under the bus again?  Why did they give control of the region to Egypt?  All questions that need answering.  But time will tell.  Still praying for Israel.”(quote by iamnotashamed)

Netanyahu’s fatal error, said Ben-Ari, was settling for a cease-fire that, at best, would last for a couple of months – “and already on Wednesday night we saw that it had no material substance, considering that Gaza terrorists fired rockets at Israel after the cease-fire was supposed to start,” he said. “This is a battle for the future, and Hamas has won that battle clearly,” he said.

In agreeing to the cease-fire, Netanyahu also contradicted himself, said Ben-Ari. “During the last elections Netanyahu promised to destroy Hamas, that he knew how to beat Hamas, and other empty slogans.” Clearly Netanyahu did not succeed, and those who had placed their hopes in the “tougher” Avigdor Lieberman are also sorely disappointed, considering that Netanyahu and Lieberman are now not only political partners, but both signed off on Wednesday’s cease-fire deal. “The choices for right-wing voters are much more limited now,” he said.

“People are very disappointed,” he said of the aftermath of Operation Pillar of Defense. “They wanted the operation to continue until Hamas was destroyed. Unfortunately that did not happen, but today I hear more and more people saying that they finally realize that they were wrong about Netanyahu – that he has lied to the public, made promises that he cannot or will not keep. Now in the next election he must pay the price.

“On Wednesday, hundreds of people in Beersheva, Ashdod, and Kiryat Malachi demanded that Netanyahu resign,” said Ben-Ari. “These are intelligent people, who understand that Netanyahu has failed. They are demanding leaders who not only speak well on television, but also do what they say they will do,” he added.
