Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (4179) Toutatis, imaged at the Virtual Telescope

(4179) Toutatis will reach a minimum distance from our planet of about 7 millions of km, about 18 times the distance of the Moon. It will be bright enough to be seen by experienced observers with a binocular and will be an easy target even for small telescopes. Its diameter is estimated to around 5.5 km.
