Your Place in Prophecy–“Obey God Rather Than Men”

Your place in prophecy

By the Jot Many good people are pushing back on my messages of the new year. They say that they are offended that I am holding every Christian, every American, accountable for the evil that is overcoming this nation. They defend their position by saying that they write letters, make phone calls, send emails, sign petitions, teach Sunday School or various other things that are right. They think that I am being harsh on everyone but not giving any solutions. I want you to know that I appreciate all that you do; that I am not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but I sense the Lord telling me repeatedly that our actions today, in this time, determine our place in prophecy.

A little object lesson: I have coached basketball and football for most of my adult life from six year old beginners to adult semi-pro players, and have trained professionals. All that time, I considered myself not only a coach of a game, but also a Life Coach–long before the term was coined. There are teammates who excel and there are those who do not. When the team plays, there is a score kept and there are winners and losers. The ones who excel do not get the win just because they did well. They win with the team. An excellent example is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. His most recent interception lost the game for his team. He wasn’t the only one who lost. The entire team lost.

As members of the “church,” we are members of Yeshua Ha Mashiach’s (Jesus Christ’s) team. Complicating matters, we are also members (citizens) of America’s team. We are very blessed to be born into a country affording us the freedom to worship Jesus openly and conduct His Great Commission freely. In short, YHVH God has given us a wonderful opportunity to live out His will for our lives, yet instead of engaging our society, we largely have gone inward. God’s team has some very excellent players here and there, but overall we are not getting the job done. I believe it is because we do not study and know His Word in its very context, therefore, we are being tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine.

Many are frustrated that I will not tell Jot readers what to do. But if you read the Jots, they are telling people what to do to right this mess–get in the word, study it on your own, know it, and act on it. Almost every Jot is saying this. These are not my words, but what the Lord impresses upon me every day–and has for the nearly 11 years I have been writing the Daily Jot. The answer is in them–know, pray, act. Prayer must be backed by action. The church is so luke warm that people have no idea how to act much less what the Word actually calls us to do. First things first–take the time to know the Word and you will know what to do. As Peter and the Apostles said in Acts 5:29, “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,

Bill Wilson
