ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (ANS) — Audio Bible ministry Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) has added nine Audio New Testament recordings, expanding its catalog of recorded Scriptures to 703 languages.

According to a news release made available to the ASSIST News Service, the ministry has gone from 600 to 700 recordings in just 13 months. Spoken in virtually every country in the world, the 703 recordings as a whole represent a potential outreach to more than 5 billion people – or in other words, over two-thirds of the world’s population.

Combined, these newest recordings represent more than 1.1 million people who now have God’s Word in audio available in their heart language. Jola-Fogny is the largest of these language groups, spoken by over 400,000 people primarily in The Gambia. The smallest is Carapana, with 650 speakers.

Faith Comes By Hearing said it remains committed to the mission of making God’s Word available to all in their heart language and are encouraged that supporters continue to help make this possible.

“Whether it be through resources, technology, our talented and dedicated staff, or ministry partners from all over the world – God’s provision has made this day a reality,” said Jerry Jackson, FCBH founder and president, speaking in a news release.

He added, “While we are excited about reaching this milestone, we will continue to push forward to complete the work before us.”

The news release said that Jackson has seen the growth of a small tape-lending library established in 1972 to what is now the world’s largest resource of digital Bible text, audio and video.

Collectively known as the Digital Bible Platform, Faith Comes By Hearing offers free access to this digital collection of Scripture via streaming, downloads and podcasts, while the Bible.is and DeafBible.is apps for mobile devices offer instant Bible access.
The news release said for those areas that do not yet have regular access to the Internet or mobile devices, Faith Comes By Hearing continues to reach out by providing Audio New Testaments on solar-powered “Proclaimers” for listening groups. More than 320,000 Proclaimers are in use around the world.

FCBH said the ministry’s goal is to record and provide access to the Word of God in every translated language, making the fulfillment of the Great Commission a reality in this generation.
