“This article  concentrates on the poor treatment of women after sterilization.  What I find truly amazing is that they are doing MASS sterilizations at all.  Why is this practice becoming the“norm”?  Even here, we are allowing abortion pills and birth control to be handed out to our children in school without parental consent, abortions without parental consent, etc.  So why is the world accepting this?  One word “New World Order.”  In our country we’re being lulled into a false sense of security, by them declaring a ‘war on women’, when in reality the real war on women is convincing them that it is their idea and their right to  terminate life.  How do you push your child into rebellion?  By telling them they can’t do something!  The governments know this, so they announce that the right say’s you can’t have an abortion or free birth control, so all those women, like little children rise up and rebel.  Touting the war cry, you won’t tell us what to do with our bodies!  Shame on us.  Look what is happening in the rest of the world.  We are allowing persecution of women to increase!”

Scores of women were left abandoned unconcious in a field after undergoing sterilisation at a rural health centre in India.

Four doctors at the government-run Manikchak Rural Hospital in West Bengal are under investigation after conducting as many as 106 sterilization operations.

Medics say the patients should have been monitored for at least three hours but instead they were put in a dirty field next to the hospital and exposed to infection .

Bengal’s shame

The ill-equipped hospital doesn’t have the facilities to conduct a sterilisation drive on such a large scale in a single day. It functions with only two doctors – Dr Amal Krishna Pal and Dr Joydip Majumder – and there are not enough rooms for patients to recuperate.

Nonetheless, the two doctors carried out the ligation procedure with the help of a gynaecologist, Dr Purnendu Rang, who was called from the nearby Ratua rural healthcare centre.

A patient who undergoes a sterilisation procedure needs to be kept under medical observation for at least three hours. However, after the surgical procedure, the doctors asked the helpers to move every patient to the adjacent field.

They were carried out and casually dumped under the open sky. Unable to bear the pain in the absence of proper care, some of them fell unconscious.

Many of the patients were sent off on rickshaws, though they were not in a state to make any journey.

A district health official said the hospital has no ambulance.
