The ancient Knights of Malta in modern world

“I found this article this morning, and it got me to thinking.  I had no idea that any form of the crusaders even existed today, let alone that they would be an active group.  Evidently there are major players from the leaders of the world involved.  Even some of our own.  They were originally the order of St. John the Baptist, they were also known as the ‘Hospitallers’.  They moved from being Hospitallers to an armed group during the crusades.  I’ll put a little history at the end.  It’s been said that the Illuminati and Free masons once set out to destroy the Knights of Malta.  But now it appears they have joined them, or so say some.  Pope Benedict is a member of the Knights. There is even a prominent Christian Minister and Evangelist among them, Rick Joyner.  They say their main mission is to help the needy and protect Christians.  I’m finding the latter hard to believe, because there is so much persecution in the world of Christians today, and they seem to be silent on the world scene.  I had never heard of them in modern times until today, when I ran across this article.  They were celebrating the 900th anniversary of their forming.  One of the Popes High Cardinals presided.  They have observer status at the UN just like the Vatican, they have a palace in Rome, and a villa overlooking the city.  They make their own stamps, and govern like the Vatican.  30% of the group is women.  Just thought it interesting, given that so much is coming out about secret and religious organizations.  They are said to have members of the council on foreign relations, the club of Rome and others.  All world organizations seeking one world order and religion.  Might be good to keep a watchful eye.  I don’t know enough about this yet to form a solid opinion, I just know that with all the news and chaos and confusion in the world, it’s best to know who the players are.  Jesus said that false Christ’s and false prophets would appear to deceive even the elect if that were possible.  ‘See I have told you ahead of time.’  Paul also warns of a spiritual struggle, one with rulers, authorities against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  So put on the belt of truth described in Ephesians 6, and stand firm.  For the master of deceit is fast and hard at work.  If this were true that they are to protect Christianity, than we have soldiers for Christ.  Anyway, read the article, watch the video, and see what you think.”

Four-thousand Knights of Malta, heirs to one of the great orders of European chivalry of mediaeval times, and the fourth oldest religious order in the Roman Catholic Church, took over the Vatican briefly on Saturday.

Members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta from more than 100 countries marched five abreast into Saint Peter’s Basilica on a cold winter’s day under a cloudless sky, squinting in the bright sunlight.

The knights were hatless, but wore long black woollen cloaks with the distinctive eight-pointed white cross of their order embroidered in front.

The dames (about 30% of the members are now women), wearing similar robes and coiffed with black mantillas, followed behind.

The procession, including aid workers and volunteers bringing up the rear, took more than half an hour to wind around the basilica, into the square and up the steps into Saint Peter’s.
