I was thinking about prayer, and what should I pray in regards to leaders of the world.  What should I pray when I pray for the persecuted Christians in prison?  I don’t know about you, but I have trouble praying for leaders that clearly go against the Word of God. So I asked, What in the world would I pray about, what would I ask for, and how can my prayer’s help those in prison, persecuted for their belief in the one true God?  God took a little while with His answer, but He lead me to 2Kings and Elisha.

2Kings 6:15-17

‘When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.  Oh my lord, what shall we do, the servant asked.  Don’t be afraid, the prophet answered.  Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.  And Elisha prayed, O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.  Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.’

Not only does this show me that there are powerful forces surrounding those who fear and Believe in God, but it shows me what to pray for.  Like Elisha, I pray that God will open the eyes of the Leaders of the world and the captors and tormentors of Christians so that they may see the vast amounts of chariots, and angels that encamp around God’s Children.  I pray for their eyes to be opened to God so that they may turn away from evil and turn toward God.  I pray for God to shield us from Satan’s wicked arrows directed toward our minds, so that we may remain true to our Faith. I pray for God to Open the eyes of Christians so they may see the true evil at work in the world, and know that their hope resides only in Christ through God.  I pray for God to open their eyes in so many ways just as He did for Elisha’s servant.

So if you can’t decide what to pray for, if your like me, you can pray for God to open eyes.  I also encourage you to ask God what it is that He would have you do.  He gives each of us different gifts and messages, and He expects us to use these gifts and messages, especially in the times we are in.  So go into your prayer room and have a long talk with God and He will tell you what to do.  God Bless.
