The Jot/Extreme Unconstitutional state of the union

By Bill Wilson The occupant of the Oval Office gave a belabored hour-long 6,600 word state of the union speech that would rival some of the long-winded notorious dictators of third world nations. To be blunt–the only thing constitutional of note in his entire speech was bringing home the troops from Afghanistan. The rest of his speech was the magnification of an already unconstitutional and overreaching government aimed at taking away freedoms and spending your hard earned tax money on things not even provided for by the Constitution. The occupant concluded his socialist missive with his most unconstitutional proposal–using children in an emotional appeal to disarm America.

“Of course, what I’ve said tonight matters little if we don’t come together to protect our most precious resource:  our children. It has been two months since Newtown. I know this is not the first time this country has debated how to reduce gun violence. But this time is different. Overwhelming majorities of Americans–Americans who believe in the Second Amendment–have come together around common-sense reform, like background checks that will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on a gun. Senators of both parties are working together on tough new laws to prevent anyone from buying guns for resale to criminals. Police chiefs are asking our help to get weapons of war and massive ammunition magazines off our streets, because these police chiefs, they’re tired of seeing their guys and gals being outgunned.”

I wonder what country this president is living in. Gun-related deaths, according to the federal government, are less than 10,000 per year, while traffic related deaths are four times that. Even deaths caused by drunk driving are slightly higher than those by guns. We don’t see the government trying to ban cars with more than one seat, or drinking, or background checks on drivers. But we do see it trying to disarm the American people just like Hitler, Mao, Stalin and others who mass murdered their people after disarming them to keep in control. This 2nd Amendment right is the only thing that stands between you and the government taking away all your rights and dictating your very existence.

He said, “Our actions will not prevent every senseless act of violence in this country. In fact, no laws, no initiatives, no administrative acts will perfectly solve all the challenges I’ve outlined tonight. But we were never sent here to be perfect.  We were sent here to make what difference we can, to secure this nation, expand opportunity, uphold our ideals through the hard, often frustrating, but absolutely necessary work of self-government.” In other words, he is admitting that his actions will not end firearm related deaths.

He is also admitting that he is sent to make a difference, not to be perfect. To be perfect would be to uphold his oath to protect and defend the Constitution. He is telling you he is sent to make a difference. What can this difference be in context of his extreme socialist ideals? As Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,

Bill Wilson
