Revelations 12:11 – And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Italics mine.

One of the greatest witnessing tools that any Christian has at their disposal isn’t a 5-step scripture reference, used to lead a damned soul to Christ. Nor is it a memorized script. These only make the process of evangelism mechanical, and I don’t think you are a robot…are you? No, the greatest witnessing tool a Christian has is the story of your own testimony.

What does a testimony consist of?

Your testimony is simply what you have heard, seen, and experienced God do in your own life. This is the most anointed and powerful witnessing tool that you have in your soul-winning arsenal for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The sad fact is, people only think to tell about their salvation experience when sharing their personal testimony.

“God through Jesus’ precious blood saved me during a church revival,” is the testimony of many people.

Wouldn’t you agree that, since that miraculous soul-saving event, God has done many more wonderful things in your life? We must consider these things if we are going to be successful at reaching others for Christ with our testimonies.

So, how can you find your testimony?

Only you know what God has done for you personally.  In order to get it out, write it down. Grab a notebook or your computer and write out everything that God has done for you from the time you were saved until now.

You’ll be amazed how much God has actually saved, delivered, healed, and provided for you. Once you are finished, be sure to keep a journal of everything that the Lord has done for you.

How to share your testimony

Now that you know what the greatest witnessing tool is, you should have no problem sharing your faith through your own story. You won’t have to memorize any scripture verses, which are helpful, but, not necessary.

It should be easy to implement your testimony in a friendly conversation with someone, even if you do not know them. Fear is the biggest roadblock to personal soul-winning. The only way to break through fear is to conquer it with faith.
