When Did The Media Become Judge, Jury , And Executioner? (Nurse Refuses To Do CPR?)

“When this first came out I was horrified thinking how could this happen, even if it was a policy?  But I kept calm, it came out today that this elderly woman who passed away had signed a ‘Do Not resuscitate  order on admission to the facility.  As awful as this sounds this is a common practice with those who have living wills.  I have this.  I do not want extraordinary measures performed if I have a major cardiac event, like cardiac arrest.  This is not a bad thing.  I just wonder why the media is all over this and not giving the whole story.  I even heard one channel I think it was Fox, of all stations.  Say, this is why we need obamacare!  So they are using this crisis to tout obamacare!  I think that this could have been handled different, by both nurse and dispatch.  Many fire departments and EMS personnel won’t honor the wishes of a DNR order, many will.  I just think before we play judge, jury and executioner here, we should get all the facts.  If this woman did sign this DNR and her Dr. signed it, then the facility respected her wishes.  If she didn’t then the facility and nurse should face a court.  Not be tried in the media.  Just sayin…..

It was later revealed that Ms Bayless had signed a Do Not Resuscitate form, and it is against the policy of the retirement home to give CPR to residents against their wishes.

The executive director at Glenwood, Jeffrey Toomer, said in a statement: ‘In the event of a health emergency at this independent living community, our practice is to immediately call emergency medical personnel for assistance and wait with the individual needing attention until such personnel arrives.

  1. well, strange, but does have some truth. We know that a political trap has been laid for Israel. It anguishes those of us who are watching. And we know what God say’s about this, so we know what’s coming. “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”
