According to Lady Lake police, church officials heard loud banging noises coming from the Last Supper Adoration Chapel and discovered Travis striking a statue of St. Michael with a bat.

Travis ran away, but a church worker followed her until officers took her into custody, police said.

Lady Lake police said Travis had been hanging around the church for several hours before she vandalized the statue.

Travis told officers that she thought she was doing a good thing, according to police.

“I go to church, believe in God, read my Bible,” she told Local 6.
