Pollen isn’t just an allergy-sparking substance that makes you sneeze in the springtime; it serves many purposes for plants, insects, and humans alike. But many of us miss out on amazing bee pollen benefits because we simply don’t know any better.
Pollen is the tiny male seed in a flower. Once collected by a honey bee, it transforms into a highly concentrated nutritional powerhouse called bee pollen. Bee pollen is one major reasons for the numerous health benefits of honey.
Honey and Bee Pollen Benefits: What’s You’ve Been Missing
Bee pollen is said to be one of nature’s perfect foods. It contains all of the nutrients essential to human life, with an amino acid concentration greater than any animal products including beef, eggs, and cheese. It’s rich in vitamins, proteins, antioxidants, and more.
“Honeybee pollen is the richest source of vitamins found in Nature in a single food. Even if bee pollen had none of its other vital ingredients, its content of rutin alone would justify taking at least a teaspoon daily, if for no other reason than strengthening the capillaries. Pollen is extremely rich in rutin and may have the highest content of any source, plus it provides a high content of the nucleics RNA [ribonucleic acid] and DNA [deoxyribonucleic acid].”
And while the chemical composition can almost be duplicated in a lab, science hasn’t yet perfected it. There’s a certain secret ingredient in bee pollen. Though they have replicated the pollen and included all of the nutrients present, putting this lab-created bee pollen in a hive will kill the bees. Something we can’t identify is missing in these poor substitutes.
Science is slow in proving the benefits of natural substances. However, bee pollen has been used for centuries and has reported benefits including:
- Asthma treatment
- Depression
- Obesity
- Inflammation
- Digestive problems
- Skin tonic
- Cardio health
- Allergy relief
- Increased energy
- And more
Bee pollen has been used for anti-aging, overall health, and energy boosting. Some swear by it, and others swear at it because they don’t get their desired results. This is true with many nutrient super foods. One size doesn’t fit all. Nevertheless, some research scientists have tagged bee pollen as one of nature’s perfect foods.
You can find bee pollen sold as granules or in capsules, or could just consume it in raw honey. If you opt for granules, it’s recommended that you seek out one with multicolored grains, indicating a variety of sources. If you like honey, experience bee pollen benefits benefits from finding a local, raw honey source.

I’ll have to try that. I know my Father used honey and vinegar for as long as I can remember. He swore by it then. Don’t know if he still uses it. God bless.
