Spiritual anarchy and our prophetic future

Romans 12:21 says, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Many examples in the Word of God call believers to stand for righteousness, be salt and light, follow God not man, and so on. Jesus also tells us of the end times in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Many Christians in today’s society have been so taken in by the world and its various shades of gray that they have lost their ability to discern. Judges 17:6 speaks of a time in Israel, “In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.” Although there are a lot of wanna be kings in America, the true King of kings is not obeyed by the masses, so we are on the verge of spiritual anarchy.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:24, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” He warns in Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits.” The Apostle Paul warns in 2 Timothy 3:1, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”  He continues in verses 12 and 13, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”

In the Apostle Paul’s farewell to Ephesus in Acts 20:29, he says, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.” As believers, we are told repeatedly that we need to sharpen our discernment skills because evil people will try to deceive us from within our ranks and from positions of authority. And if we as a people are seeking a king other than Jesus, we will be doing what is right in our own eyes–which is anarchy, both spiritual and physical. If our eyes are not fixed on Jesus, our discernment is in jeopardy.

In these times when evil men and seducers are using every opportunity to take away the self-evident God-given rights through either deceptive government or false teachings, you must be able to discern. You must be able to, as Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:14, “But continue thou in the things which thou has learned and has been assured of, knowing of whom thou has learned them” and verse 16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Get back to the Word of God. It will not lead you astray. Understand and discern what is happening to you and do something about it by overcoming evil with good, and having done all, stand.

Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,

Bill Wilson
