While studying this morning in John I found absolute proof that Jesus said He was God’s Son, and That He was God.  I really don’t understand why this question is still around.  The Bible proves this.  I also find it hard, that some people who say they are Christians, when asked if they are going to Heaven, say “I don’t know, if I’m good.”  Jesus gave us absolute proof of this in his own words.

John 14

Jesus was comforting His disciples before His death.  He said:

• ‘Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?  Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.  How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’  
• Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?  The words I say to you are not just my own.  Rather, it is the Father living in me, who is doing his work.
• Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.  
• I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father, 
• And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 
• You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

I don’t know how much proof anyone needs than this.  Jesus and the Father are one.  Jesus is God’s Son.  But there’s more.  He prays for the disciples right before His death and resurrection and this is what He says:

John 17

• ‘Father, the time has come.  Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
• For you granted Him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given Him.
• Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
• I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
• And now, Father glorify me in your presence with The Glory I had with you before the world began.

That’s it, it’s done.  There is no more question of any of this.  Jesus said He had Glory with God the Father BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN!

Rejoice, for we are children of the One True God, In Christ Jesus!  God came in the flesh, through His Son Jesus Christ, to give us eternal life!  He loved us that much.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believeth in Him shall have eternal life!!!

If you still need more proof, although I can’t imagine why.  Read Luke 22:70   For when the elders asked Jesus ‘Are you then the Son of God?’  Jesus replied:  ‘You are right in saying I Am.’  Not only did he say that He was the Son of God, He used the words ‘I AM’.  This was the name of God that the ancient israelites knew.  When Moses asked God how the isreaelites would believe him, He said tell them ‘I AM’ sent you!  And still they didn’t recognize Him.  In John 18 when Jesus was before Pilate, Jesus said:  ‘My kingdom is not of this world.  If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews.  But now my kingdom is from another place.’  Pilate asked Jesus, So you are a King.  And Jesus replied:  ‘You are right in saying I am a King.  In fact, for this reason I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.  Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Jesus never referred to himself as a prophet.  He knew He was King of Kings.  He did not refer to himself in any other way.  He didn’t tout it from the rooftops, but He always pointed out who He was.  Even in the Temple when He read the Torah about the coming Messiah, when He finished, He said this prophecy is fulfilled.

God said it, I believe it, it’s done!  Rejoice for we are children of the King!  And He is indeed coming back for us.  He promised!!!
