The RoboBees project at Harvard has been flying prototype bees for months, and the next challenge is equipping them with brains. The scientists have just released the video of the first controlled flight of such a robotic bee. The bees are half the size of a paperclip and weigh less than a tenth of a gram, and the fact they can fly at all is an engineering marvel in its own right given their minute size.
