In my search of the scriptures to discern the seasons and the times we are living in, my search took me to various places and books when I ran across this. I discovered something called the ‘Didache’. It is from 40-60 AD. It is the teachings of the early Apostles and though it didn’t make it into the Canon, it is considered an early church document. It covers everything from life, death, baptism, communion all the way to the second coming of Christ. I will put links to 2 articles about this, at the end. I encourage you to read these. These I found amazing. I don’t find them heretical, for they don’t stray from the doctrine Christ taught. I think instead they expand and explain. I don’t think they replace the Bible, but I find that it’s very interesting that the early writings of the church and the Apostles prove the Bible to be what it is, the infallible word of God. CARM say’s that it’s not inspired, but a valuable early church document. Remember Jesus told the Disciples at the last supper there would come a time when He wouldn’t speak to them in parables, that He would speak plainly. And the Bible tells us that He spent many days with the Disciples after he arose from the dead, before His ascension. John say’s in John 21:25 ‘And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.’
Again, these are not heretical, they are valuable as an early Church Document. I want to touch on the chapter that tells of Jesus’s second coming. This say’s that the deceiver of the world (Antichrist) will appear as the ‘Son Of God’. This goes along with Paul’s teachings also, and gives clarity as to the words ‘When you see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place’ And also some who believe that the Antichrist will declare himself to be God in God’s temple. Well even the Apostles evidently thought that the ‘Antichrist’ would appear as Jesus. Now What system has a end times scenario with Jesus being present to kill all Christians who won’t convert and tell us that we’ve been lied to about the cross, that he really didn’t die? And remember Jesus went into detail to warn us, ‘If they say there He is in the desert, or there He is, don’t believe them, for as the lightening appears from the east to the west, so shall the coming of the Son Of Man be.’ (Matthew 24:26) So in reality we are to watch for a man who presents himself as Jesus Christ, performing all sorts of lying wonders and miracles. Not a man that will emerge as a political figure who wins with charisma. Although I can think of at least 2 that fit this description, I think that indeed they are antichrist as the definition John gave in the Bible. They will help the world chase after and worship the beast even help to set up his kingdom. And also the Apostles taught as Jesus did, and that is that ‘immediately after the tribulation of those day’s…. (Matthew 24) the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, all nations will mourn. He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call and they will gather his elect from the four winds from one end of the heavens to the other. Not secretly in the middle of the night only for select believers. He will come for all, and all will see Him. And He’s coming soon. Because also in Matthew 24, Jesus say’s ‘When you begin to see these things happen, look up, for your redemption draws near. Paul also say’s of the gathering up of us to Him in 2Thessalonians ‘That day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed.’ Below is the writing from the Didache, what do you think?
CHAPTER 16
16:1 Watch concerning your life; let not your lamps be quenched or your loins be loosed, but be ye ready, for ye know not the hour at which our Lord cometh.
16:2 But be ye gathered together frequently, seeking what is suitable for your souls; for the whole time of your faith shall profit you not, unless ye be found perfect in the last time.
16:3 For in the last days false prophets and seducers shall be multiplied, and the sheep shall be turned into wolves, and love shall be turned into hate;
16:4 and because iniquity aboundeth they shall hate each other, and persecute each other, and deliver each other up; and then shall the Deceiver of the world appear as the Son of God, and shall do signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands; and he shall do unlawful things, such as have never happened since the beginning of the world.
16:5 Then shall the creation of man come to the fiery trial of proof, and many shall be offended and shall perish; but they who remain in their faith shall be saved by the rock of offence itself.
16:6 And then shall appear the signs of the truth; first the sign of the appearance in heaven, then the sign of the sound of the trumpet, and thirdly the resurrection of the dead
16:7 — not of all, but as it has been said, The Lord shall come and all his saints with him;
16:8 then shall the world behold the Lord coming on the clouds of heaven.

The Didache is a marvelous ancient church writing. The church was strong and pure with the Words of our LORD+ and of HIS+ Apostles still hanging in the air! The ancient pre-Nicene Church focused on following JESUS the SON of GOD as HE+ had taught.
You might find http://www.scrollpublishing.com to be an interesting site. David Bercot has a good list of CDs and books about what the ancient Church believed and taught, their faith and practice. He (David) has spent many years in this work. Basically, it was just as the Apostle’s writings teach, simple, straight, and powerful. The HOLY SPIRIT was the LEADER. The ancient Christians gave a good account of themselves as actual followers of of CHRIST, in the arenas of Rome and in daily lifestyle. They could be known by the pagans by their pure lives and by their love toward each other and even their enemies. Some of their ways might sound strange to our ears, but some of the earliest ones were contemporary with the Apostles, very good teachers I am sure!! I wanted to know what the ancient Christians believed and practiced, so these writings were a blessing to me.
May we return to those standards in the strength of the HOLY SPIRIT, “perfecting holiness in the fear of GOD” ( 2 Corinthians;7:1)
Peace+ to all of the “Called-Out” Amen+ Peace+ to you Sister.

Thank you Hayden. I will search the link you gave. I found the Didache so fascinating and helpful. To learn straight from the Apostle’s mouth’s and our Messiah. The first church had such strength and faith. I strive for 1/4 of that. Thank you Brother.

Thank you Daryl, I found it most interesting, I read it about 6 months ago, and God wouldn’t let me forget it, so I thought I’d share it. I like that, that’s what I got from it too, kind of a how to for ministers. It’s amazing. God Bless.
