My friend and I were having a discussion about a blog post that describes the new seeker friendly churches, and we were musing ‘Where have all the Christians gone, and were there any true Christians to begin with?’  That question I find myself asking more and more lately.  I’ll put a link to the post that struck the cord in me, it’s very good.  The church of today would be unrecognizable to the early church of the Apostles.  They had to meet in secret to avoid persecution, and were lucky to have a meal together.  There were no grand buildings with donut bars, and coffee shops.  Some even have tattoo parlors in them.  No Joke!  Some have massage therapists and they even take them on their retreats.  Yes they do, I can attest to that first hand.  And no I won’t disclose details.  But this is the norm not the far and few between.  Let’s look at  this, this is a well known church in the US  Look at this from their website, and this is just one of their big things.   The churches PHYSICAL THERAPIST want’s to know if your stressed out, tired and overwhelmed or burnt out.  To feel more alive, focused and peaceful, there is a new class.  HELLO!  Oh and don’t forget to bring a mat and 2 pillows and a blanket for support.  I am speechless.  How about instruction in God’s word, how about finding strength and comfort in God’s word.  Do we need a room for a physical therapist to teach us how to relax?  How about the very first physical therapist ever God?  And you want to know why our country is in the shape that it’s in?  You want to know why the church is silent?  They are too busy rolling on the floor with a physical therapist or massage therapist to notice that God has been removed from our Country!

That was just one example, do a search and look at some of these church websites.  You walk into the sanctuary after coffee, donuts, pastries and only God knows what else, the auditorium is dark, laser lights flashing, a rock band pounding and dancing, big screens flashing and this is called the ‘Worship service’  while everyone dances and rolls on the floor.  THIS IS NOT WORSHIP!  Unless of course they are worshiping satan or another unknown God.  Is it any wonder John say’s in Revelation ‘Come up out of her my people.’?  Or when describing the fall of Babylon, he say’s ‘That great city, there shall be no more music or dancing in the street.’  Hello, do you really wonder why.

Which brings us to the question:  ‘Where have all the Christians Gone?’  The true Christians, the true Body of Christ, the ones who are quietly kneeling in prayer and looking up awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior.  We’re here, but we are not part of the world!  This world has nothing to offer us, no physical therapist, no massage therapist, we are not worried all about me, and if I name a million dollars and give enough, I’ll get a million dollars from God, He wants me to be rich!  This is HERESY!  Here is what Jesus said the very last thing before he was arrested in His prayer for the desciples and all believers:

‘I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.  My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.  They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  Sanctify them by the truth, your word is truth.  As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.  For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.  My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me….  Righteous Father, though the world does not know you , I know you , and they know that you have sent me.’

So does that sound like the churches and believers of today?  NO!  It’s time to get off the fence of me, me, me and take your place with the sheep, not the goats.  Jesus is coming back for his bride will He find his bride asleep, or whoring after another god?  Or will he find you in prayer and watchfulness.  SHAME ON YOU if your a part of this so called worship of God.

And my husband say’s he can find prayer and fasting in the Bible, but not pastries and prayer.
