Alert: Fukushima Radioactive Levels Rising: So Why Are We Not Being Told About This In The MSM? The Implications Of This Is Mind Boggling

High levels of radiation were detected near an area where steam was spotted July 23 at the No. 3 reactor building of the stricken Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co., the plant operator, said.

TEPCO gave a measurement of 562 millisieverts per hour.

The Nuclear Regulation Authority, the government’s nuclear industry watchdog, instructed TEPCO to investigate further because the dose level is high.

What appeared to be steam was spotted near an equipment storage pool on the fifth floor of the No. 3 reactor building around 9:05 a.m. There was a similar occurrence on the morning of July 18.

In the latest incident, TEPCO measured radiation levels in 24 other locations around the fifth floor of the reactor building. The maximum dose was 2,170 millisieverts per hour, while the minimum was 137 millisieverts per hour.

Fukushima radioactive groundwater readings rocket

TOKYO (AFP) –  Toxic radioactive substances in groundwater at Japan’s crippled Fukushima nuclear plant have rocketed over the past three days, its operator said, admitting it did not know where the leak was coming from.

Samples taken on Monday showed levels of possibly cancer-causing caesium-134 were more than 90 times higher than they were on Friday, at 9,000 becquerels per litre, Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) revealed.

Levels of caesium-137 stood at 18,000 becquerels per litre, 86 times higher than at the end of last week, the utility said.

“We still don’t know why the level of radiation surged, but we are continuing efforts to avert further expansion of contamination,” a TEPCO spokesman stated.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said radioactive cesium levels in a well at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant on July 8 were 90 times higher than those measured at the same site just three days earlier.

TEPCO said July 9 that cesium levels of 27,000 becquerels per liter, the highest cesium levels found since the onset of the March 2011 nuclear disaster, were detected in water samples a day earlier from a well on the seaward side of the No. 2 reactor building.

“It is unclear whether the radioactive water is leaking into the sea,” a TEPCO official said. “After gathering needed data, we will conduct analyses.”

The unusually high cesium levels were found in a well near the water intake for the No. 2 reactor, from which highly radioactive water leaked into the sea in April 2011.

TEPCO said cesium-134 levels in the well water were 9,000 becquerels, 150 times the legally permitted level, while 18,000 becquerels of cesium-137, 200 times the legally allowed level, were also detected in the water.

Although total cesium levels in the water collected on July 8 were 90 times the levels measured on July 5, levels of other radioactive substances, including strontium, were 890,000 becquerels, the same as three days ago.

“We do not know why only cesium levels have risen,” a TEPCO official said.
