Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu officially got his powers back on Sunday morning, following a discussion between top doctors at Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu’s authorities had been temporarily given to Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon while he underwent stomach surgery.
The surgery Saturday night was successful, and the Prime Minister is said to be recovering well.
Netanyahu said Sunday morning, “I want to thank the dedicated and professional medical team that treated me, and all of the citizens who have inquired after my health. I will continue to work constantly to guard your heath and welfare.”
The Prime Minister’s health scare lead to the deferral of the weekly Cabinet meeting, which was to have taken place on Sunday morning.
However, his surgery did not delay the meeting of a ministerial committee that is meant to approve the early release of 26 terrorists who are to be freed as a “gesture” to the Palestinian Authority in advance of talks.
