God always works in the life of the Believer,and both these men were convinced they served Almighty God and the answer was shown to the people of who God walked with.Pharaoh would call on the magicians for his miracles (or so it looked like miracles),while Moses a man called of God received miracles straight from Heaven itself by the hand of God!

                                                                ELIJAH vs. AHABS PROPHETS

   

Elijah gave the challenge to Ahab and his prophets that he served the Lord God and Baal was a false god the people served.Ahab accepted the challenge! They each were to prepare a bullock to sacrifice to God and to call on their god that would answer by sending fire from heaven.

    “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God,follow him. And the people answered him not a word.Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only,remain a prophet of the Lord;but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.And call ye on the name of your gods,and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire,let him be God. And all the people answered and said,it is well spoken”.(1 Kings 18:21,22, & 24).

    After the prophets and the people continued to call on their god even by noon no voice came Elijah started to mock and say “And it came to pass at noon,that Elijah mocked them, and said, cry aloud: for he is a god;either he is talking, or he is pursuing, he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them”.(1 Kings 18:27,28).Even into the evening sacrifice there was still no answer from their god.

    Then Elijah proceeded to build his altar to God and poured even water over all of it. “And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prohet came near.and said,Lord God of Abraham,Isaac,and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant,and that I have done all these things at thy word.Hear me ,O Lord,hear me,that this people may know that thou art the Lord God,and that thou hast turned their heart back again.Then the fire of the Lord fell,and consumed the burnt sacrifice,and the wood,and the stones,and the dust,and licked up the water that was in the trench.And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord,he is the God; the Lord, he is the God”.(1 Kings 18:35-39).

    Many believe they are serving Almighty God,and this article was written after my search to find the one who made Heaven and Earth.The God who is above every false god of the people………….

    “And ye shall seek me, and find me,when ye shall search for me with all your heart”.(Jeremiah 29:13).

    “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”.(Isaiah 55:6).

    “But without Faith it is imposible to please him;for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.(Hebrews 11:6).

    My Dear People do not let Christ be dead in vain….His work was finished on the cross.He became our High Priest of the True Tabernacle.The old covenant has passed and Christ brought us the New Covenant”For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands;which are the figures of the true;but into Heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us”(Hebrews 9:24)……”The Holy Ghost this signifying,that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest,while as the first tabernacle was yet standing.But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle,not made with hands,that is to say, not of this building”(Hebrews 9:8,11).

    Just as Moses and Elijah called on God,we have access to the Father since our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is seated at his right hand to make intercession on our behalf.This was the sole purpose of God sending us his only Begotten Son.
