The word sanctification has a myriad of Blessings it gives the Believer.
Sanctification: To be set apart as Holy,To grow in divine grace,To purify,Godliness,To be free from sin,Considered sacred……………
Christ suffered and endured the cross whose shed blood cleanses our sin.We are set apart when we acknowledge the true gift of being sanctified.
When Jesus said the words I and my Father are one it was considered by the people that he spoke blasphemy.He tells us through the Holy Spirit we are one and the same,just as he and the Father are one. “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.For it became him for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren”.(Hebrews 2:9-11).
It is written we were predestined from the foundation of the world and chosen to salvation. “But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord. because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ”.(2 Thessalonians 2:13,14).
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son,that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”(Romans 8:29-31).
God shows setting his people apart by taking them from among the heathen and sanctifying them in front of them. “And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes”.(Ezekiel 36:23).
We are told Jesus is our Sabbath and that we are to rest in him for the Sabbath was made for man. “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man,and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath”.(Mark 2:27,28).
God feels so strongly about his way being pure and undefiled he created the heavens and the earth and then sanctified the seventh for he rested from all his work!.”Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made”.(Genesis 2:1-3).

I AM Not Ashamed…………..You are so right that man’s teaching is twisted at times and something that seems so right will….send the sheep to the slaughter or the belief of the Rapture theory which I followed for so many years was shown to me Praise God by the Shepherds Chapel whose address is listed above…..they have it right.Thank You for your comment.God Bless You.I pray people check out this teaching to the saving of their souls.

We are told Jesus is our Sabbath and that we are to rest in him for the Sabbath was made for man. “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man,and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath”. Amen Sister!!! This is so true! And so sad at the same time because men have long sought to interpret and twist, when Jesus’ words should stand as they are. There are many man made doctrines and scriptures that are leading people astray when all we have to do is realize “We are sanctified by God through His Son Jesus Christ.” If we resist this than we are doomed. Thanks for reminding us that we are called and chosen apart from the world and man’s doctrines. I keep wondering if He will find Faith when He returns, Jesus say’s in Luke (12:37) ‘Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. As suredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.’ Always watching! Keep our eyes focused on Jesus! Many blessings to you!

I greatly appreciate your post on Sanctification- the process of being Holy before God. It is a good reminder what God expects from all of us ‘For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, & ye shall be holy; for I am holy’ Lev11:44.. ‘HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD’ Zech14:20.
Paul wrote ‘Follow peace with all men, & Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord’ Heb12:14. Jesus prayed to the Father ‘Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth’ Jn17:17.
Sanctification & Holiness are very important in order to see the Lord in the Rapture. If not, we will miss Him & be left behind! The churches should be preaching more on Sanctification, & teaching on Holiness, as the Lord is coming back real soon for a Holy people!
