Prosperity Teachings Emerge Again Is This Sound Doctrine? Or is it Man Following The World And It’s Treasures

Matthew 19:21  Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

I saw this article on the Blaze and it set my mind to reeling.  The next time you pull your last dollar out of your wallet to donate to these ministries you might want to re-think your position.  We’ll start with this article by the Blaze, these Charismatic mega churches are springing up like weeds.  Just thought you should see where their money is going.  I know, this minister say’s his income is from his recent book, but if you read the article, the church paid for advertisement for his book, and other things.  So how can he separate this.  And this is not what the Lord had in mind for those who follow him.  This is the false teachings of the Charismatic, prosperity gospel false teachers.  Read the article below, and then we’ll move on to others.

Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Charlotte, N.C., has sparked monumental controversy over a new 16,000-square-foot home he is building with his wife, Holly. The home’s size and cost have renewed a question that often follows large ministries and churches: Is it wrong for faith leaders to command large salaries and live in mansions?Despite the attention, Furtick doesn’t appear to be backing down or apologizing. He spent the first 10 minutes of his Sunday sermon essentially defending the home and proclaiming that all blessings come from God, the Charlotte Observer reported.“My wife and I made a decision, and we built a house,” he said. “It’s a big house, and it’s a beautiful house, and we thank God for it …. We understand everything we have comes from God.”WCNC-TV reported that the home has 7 1/2 bathrooms and that the contract value of the house is $1.4 million. In addition, the land was $325,000. In sum, the home will cost about $1.7 million.  Read the article: Should Pastors Live in Extravagant Homes? Preacher’s 16,000-Sq.-Foot House Sparks Debate | Video | TheBlaze.com

This is the plane that Joyce Meyers used to travel in, but as you can see it’s been replaced by a Gulfstream.

Joyce Meyer used to travel in this Canadair Challenger 600S; seen here in Sydney, Australia, when she was a ‘special guest’ at the Hillsong Conference in July 2005. It has since been replaced by a Gulfstream G-IV (serial number 1132)

Watch the video below to see other extravagant lifestyles by these ‘Ministers’.  One even say’s ‘I’m not going to heaven to be broke when I get there.’  Then another say’s ‘My lifestyle follows scripture.’  HELLO!

Matthew 6:19-20   “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

Revelation 3:17-18   Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Revelation 18:4

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

2 Timothy 4

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:  Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.  But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

  1. Such a shame for these scammers at the pulpit to preach in God’s name and spread the Gospel of Christ when they live not according to His teachings….so hypocritical. Jesus preached living life with humility, to be meek and mild and love our Father. Not to be so obsessed with money that they live high off the hog. Especially in times such as these where people can’t find work, have to go on food stamps to supplement the high cost of quality food, are forced into paying for run down health insurance, are getting foreclosed on and essentially become homeless. Yes, enjoy your 16,000+ sq ft home…maybe consider sharing it with the congregation since they paid for it. I, personally, would take my tithing elsewhere.
