“We Only Have Now”

thCAT7AV7Y

Life is fleeting even if we live to be a hundred years old. Job knew of just how fast life passes us by. What is the purpose of man who’s time is as a vapour never to be seen again of family and friends who love them? “My days are swifter than a weavers shuttle, and are spent without hope. O remember that my life wind: mine eye shall no more see good. The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not. As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more”.

(Job 7:6-10).

The purpose we read of in scripture is to live a life that reflects the love Christ brought to the earth and this time we spend upon earth gives our soul purpose and meaning! We claim our life as a thing we control, yet many make plans that they will do this or that and not include God’s will in their actions. “Go to now, ye that say, Today or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that”.(James 4:13-15).

We are not promised tomorrow and the breath we have within us this very moment may be removed by sunset.. How many people have this thought only after a doctor will say you have so much time to live and you should get your affairs in order that a flood of things that seemed not too important is at the top of a list of things to do immediately. Does the teenager on the way to a party and crashes to their death think of how short life is? Does a child of five with cancer know the length of life that could have been? Do we go through our day telling people we love them or live as though we have forever to let them know? Even a thousand years to God are as no time at all in his place of eternity. “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”.(Psalm 90:4,9,12). Attend to what is most important in life  If not now then when?

  1. Hayden……….Dear soul your comment here brought me to tears for the more I read the more I saw the beautiful saving grace of our Saviour and the miraculous healing only God can do!! You are a blessing to show the world of the infinite power of the living Christ who came to seek and to save the lost and there’s no more a longing soul than one about to leave this life. Your comment is also a wonderful tesiment to show all that Christ taught of healing was shown to you first hand. Praise God Hayden for his allowing you to still be here to teach of his way and the power in his name of which you live for Brother. God Bless You.

  2. This is a serious and very important post that must be taken seriously by everyone. Truly tomorrow is not promised. I am still alive on the earth by the Grace and Mercy of our Great LORD+, being healed right in front of the doctors, to their astonishment. ( The air began to sparkle right there in ICU, I felt HIS+ nearness, I could breath SO deeply! I thought I was going to leave this place, to die, but instead HE+ healed me!) After having been near to death twice that I am aware of and possibly a third time, I exist to be my LORD’S+ disciple. Every cell and fiber, every breath and heartbeat belongs to HIM+. HE+ is my goal, so to speak.
I am sorry to say that I seem to have had to learn the hard way. “One thing is necessary” as our Lord JESUS said concerning Mary in Luke 10:42.
Let us all choose that “good thing which shall not be taken away” from us. As you stated from the Apostle, “our life is a vapor, a mist, which will disappear”.
May its disappearing here be to our rejoicing as we come into HIS+ presence there. May the LORD+ be with you Sister.
