Who woke up the Jihadists in Syria? Why Islamization failed?

arab spring boxIt has been a great shock for all how Syria was rolled into the vortex of sectarian violence in a glimpse. The last time I was in Syria in 2011, I heard the freedom slogans in Homs for the first time ( Alwaites to the Grave and Christians to Beirut). Some people will say (No) the revolution became sectarian only in the end of 2012, or the beginning of 2013 after the security forces crackdown on the so called peaceful protesters.

It is very naïve now to think that the Syrian civil war broke out as a result of internal issue as calling for reforms or whatsoever. It is a continuation of the snow ball project as I call it, that was sparked in Tunisia and the ball has to roll over and getting bigger to crash Syria.  I am not in the context of analyzing & arguing the Geopolitical scene in Syria that is tainted by energy map competitiveness, Middle East islamization ( Caliphate state) under Turkey new role and the cold war that is turning into a warm one between US and Russia.

Returning to the freedom slogan of 2011 (Alawites to the Grave and Christians to Beirut), the question that came to my mind at that time was, who designed such sectarian slogans and promoted them to be chanted by the children in Homs and all over Syria in 2011 even in schools? Is it by the Syrian people, or there is a hidden hand backstage?

untitled1There was nothing peaceful, everything was predetermined and ready to take action upon hearing the siren to declare the Jihad against the government and pro axis of Syria.  The demonstrations that were calling for some demands and reforms in the first month in March 2011, radically changed into criminal and armed groups as on May 2011 when the demonstrators started attacking the army military units in Jeser Al Shogor in northern part of Syria.  On 4 June 2011, during the uprising phase of the Syrian civil war, 120 security forces troops were reported killed during the day.

In July 2011, demonstrators slaughtered and killed many soldiers savagely and threw their corpses in the Orantes River in Hama just because they are in the national army and from the Alawite sect.

So quickly, Syria’s assorted, fragmented, and decentralized militant opposition movement were formed under two general umbrellas – those brigades that affiliate themselves under the wider umbrella of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) which was first announced on July 29th 2011, and those who are unaffiliated with the FSA and operate under the umbrella of the jihadist or groups which intend to do jihad in Syria. Although brigades in both umbrellas are made up primarily of Sunni fighters and Islamists, jihadists are often differentiated with jihadist brigades through their more conservative Islamism and employment of symbols such as the flag of the Islamic creed (shahada) rather than the green and white Syrian flag that is used by FSA brigades.

  • The Free Syrian Army (FSA).
  • Jaysh al-Islam : Estimated number of fighters: 9,000+
  • Suqour al-Sham : Claimed number of fighters: 9,000 to 10,000
  • Liwa al-Tawhid : Estimated number of fighters: Between 8,000 and 10,000
  • Liwa al-Haqq
  • Al-Nusra Front  : 5,000 to 7,000
  • slamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isis) : Estimated number of fighters: 3,000 to 5,000

What a coincidence that in the first six months of the Syria crisis, all rebels brigades and Islamic fronts were formed, organized to be the freedom fighters in Syria as backed by Obama and McCain. You know they were so quick in organizing themselves in Syria to call for the reforms for the Syrian people.

The ISIS (The Islamic state in Iraq and Levant) came also to Syria to spread democracy. Please watch this video and see how two Syrian children were executed because they are non Muslims.

Islamic radical groups including ( Haqq brigade , Suuni Lions brigade , JbhatALnusra ,Free Liberation army -Al Farroq brigade) attacked the Christian village of Deuair as on 28 May 13.

The jihadists came to Syria from different parts of the world to kill the Syria people and especially Christians who are classified as Kaffiren , Kuffar from their perspective and they deserve killing and extermination as Syria is a Muslim land as they claim.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey supported by the West have emerged as a driving force: pouring in tens of millions of dollars to arm the rebels. Yet they also stand accused of dividing them – and of positioning themselves for even greater influence in the post Assad era which is far away from their expectation.

The Islamist view of geopolitics is that they do not believe in national borders or nationality, claiming that the “umma” or Muslim nation should extend to all lands under the caliphate. Already there have been reports of Jabhat al-Nusra declaring Syria an Islamic state. Syria’s Jabhat al-Nusra is closely associated with al-Qaeda in Iraq. A concrete Islamist victory in Syria and their successful takeover of Iraq would create alarming implications with potentially catastrophic outcomes for pro-democracy movements in the region and beyond. What is starting to emerge here is a continuation of the original bin Laden vision of recreating the caliphate. Only instead of centering the base in Afghanistan as was initially planned, this time under the guidance of Ayman al Zawahiri they are aiming for Syria.

Russia realized from the beginning the Arab spring project in Syria and the accelerated process of Islamization, which is led by extremist Islamist rebel groups that follow sharia courts, and who operate a morality police force that enforces law and order Islam-style.

Russia’s position over Syria remained the same over the last three years in fighting this project. There are claims Russia rejected a secret oil deal from Saudi Arabia if it drops Syria per the Telegraph.

Mr Putin was unmoved by the Saudi offer, though western pressure has escalated since then. “Our stance on Assad will never change. We believe that the Syrian regime is the best speaker on behalf of the Syrian people, and not those liver eaters,” he said, referring to footage showing a Jihadist rebel eating the heart and liver of a Syrian soldier.

Since the threat of the Western intervention diminished considering the wake up of the Russian bear, Syria will leverage the politics and set the deadline for breaking the snow ball project and the caliphate state in the Middle East.
