When God Moves Will You Listen?

trust and obey

How many have heard the voice of God in their lives?  How many have answered God’s call to move or to do something that they wouldn’t ordinarily do?  Well I have had that a few times.  Once when I started this blog, I had no idea where it would lead me, nor that anyone would ever read what I wrote.  God said in a dream “Write letters”  and I made every excuse in the book, and the rest is history.  But most recently in fact it was the first of July, God gave my husband a vision, a vision of change.  Telling him it was time to move.  Not only down the block but to a different part of the country.  He listened.  I knew something special was happening, but I didn’t receive the exact same call that he did.  But I knew from the past, that when God moves you move.  More times than not in a whirlwind.  And that’s just what it’s been for me lately a whirlwind.

A whirlwind that completely changes your surroundings and you.  I found out completely what it means to take a leap of faith and trust only in the Lord.  We left without much money, we faced difficulty after difficulty, and without boring you with the details let me just say that with every obstacle God sent someone to help.  Not with money, but with the exact physical need we had at the moment.  He can and will provide for your every need.

We are safe in a new location, and finally after much prayer and indecision I learned to trust only in our Father.  I learned to follow my husband, follow instead of lead, and trust that God was in charge.  I understand the meaning of asking for our needs.  Several times I prayed, Father you know our needs, and soon our needs were met plus.  My faith is still growing, my courage and knowledge increasing, but I am here to tell you that trusting solely in the Lord will bring blessing, direction and guidance.  For those who say God doesn’t speak any more, well all I have to say is they are not listening.

I can’t imagine what it’s like for our persecuted brothers and sisters who are facing death on a minute by minute basis, but now I know what it’s like to start a journey with God and trust on Him and Him alone for your needs.  Our Father is capable of taking care of every need.  What a blessing this journey has been for me.  I am not the first, take Abraham, and Moses for example.  I thought of them often throughout this journey.  I still don’t know why I was brought to this, but God does.  I will “be still and wait on the Lord.”

We as Christians have forgotten that God supplies our every need, and it is He that gives us our blessings.  We have forgotten what it is to obey.  The next time you face adversity or a difficult decision, take it to the Lord.  But you have to be willing to give it completely to Him and He will provide the answer.  Sometimes it may be His will, but He will always provide an answer.

We knew no one in our new location, we had just enough money to get here, we had no place in line to stay, but God provided for us, stretched our money, and fulfilled our needs.  We both have jobs now, and a place to stay, and are thanking our Father for moving in our lives.  So when you need encouragement remember this from Paul:

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

And the next time you face a decision remember to “Trust & Obey.”  And you will be amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit.

  1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey
  2. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
  3. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
  4. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.
  5. But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
  6. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.

(Lyrics from the Hymn Trust & Obey)

I want to say thank you to the team here, and my friends and family for their unrelenting prayers and encouragement.    I now know what the persecuted mean when they say all they need is prayers.  That they can feel our prayers.  Because I felt the prayers being lifted in my behalf, it came as strength from above.  So when we ask for prayer for a situation or for our brothers and sisters persecuted, don’t give it a second thought, and immediately take it before the throne.  The power of prayer surpasses all understanding and strength.

  1. Clap Clap Father for you do what you say you will do. Praise the Lord sister for your willingness to obey. He is building us all for what is on the horizon. If one look you see the dust & storms clouds all rolled into one. When it arrives many will fall in terror, the many who have walked where I asked them to walk will be strong in me in these times and signs and wonders shall surely follow them for the glory of my son and your savior Jesus Christ.

  3. I know what you mean to leave everything in the hands of our Father as he moves before us and after us when full trust is placed in him………He truly does talk with us today just as he did in generations past, if we are sensitive to the small still voice! “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To-day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said,, they do always err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest)”.(Hebrews 3:7-11). God most certainly is the same as yesteryear and his heart grieves still today when we turn from him and not trust. God Bless You as he took you on a journey of obedience and with new jobs have been blessed all the more for it.
