We know what it was like as we were growing up to have a healthy fear of our parents if we did something wrong we knew for sure discipline was right around the corner. God loves his children the same way and wants them to fear and reverence him which will cause us to prosper in this life. “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby”.(Hebrews 12:9-11).
The fear of God is very needful in the life of the believer as without any regard for God the wicked individual has his days shortened! “But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days; which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God”.(Ecclesiastes 8:13). “But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee”.(Psalm 55:23).
How many people fear other people? when we should be fearing the one who is head of all life on this earth. “Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread”.(Isaiah 8:13).
“The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil”.(Proverbs 19:23).

Thank you Sis Julia!
‘The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward’ Ps19:9-11.
The fear of the LORD is clean, true and righteous, better than gold, & obeying Him brings great reward!
