“What Apple?”

And Other Myths People Believe

How many hear or read things without confirming it by the word of God? They soon fall prey to following fables that tear down the truth they claim to be believing in. (1 Timothy 1:4-8). Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

How often we are taught that eve gave an apple to Adam in the garden of Eden? I know it was taught when I was growing up and to this day this myth is still sadly being taught to our children.

What Apple??

(Genesis 3:3-6). But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The doctrine once saved always saved is just not possible as many repent and return to their sin after believing this myth! To live for Christ is an honest effort on the part of the believer to change the way they live and choose a different path that leads to Christ and edifies the body of Christ. We are given this example of the Galatians who thought that somehow one could live in the Spirit and yet be made perfect in the flesh. (Galatians 3:1-5). O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

In the latter days some shall depart from the faith, and as we have heard through the years that some do not have a conscience this holds true for as a hot iron sears so does speaking lies as some do and thinking no one will notice….Not even God! (1 Timothy 4:1,2,7). Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

  1. Hayden……I hear the same false teaching also as people like to believe and follow the father of lies’ more than the father of all truth. It is more convienant and the crowd of sheep go for it so it must be right,but sadly the world loves its ways even if it is away from God. May God Bless and keep you always.

  2. Yes Sister, this is true. There are so many things that are taught by the theological systems of men that are diametrically opposed to what our LORD JESUS CHRIST taught us and what HIS+ Apostles taught from HIM+.

    The “apple” thing is silly myth as any serious disciple would know, but is used many times to make “humorous” comments about a deadly serious event, the fall of an entire race of GODS creatures into the curse of sin.

    The “once saved always saved” teaching (That came into the church through Augustine) is more serious as it causes people to think that sin is not so bad, and that maybe I will loose “rewards”, but I will still have eternal life, even though I don’t care anything for CHRISTS Words or Commandments!!! A horrifying reality awaits those who willfully continue in sin after knowing the Truth.

    I once heard of a young man saying ” I got saved! Now I can sin all I want!!! True story! UNBELIEVABLE! NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH! Woe to the “churches” teaching these false and deadly lies. They are accountable. Every idle word will come into Judgement.

    Sin sent our Precious LORD+ to the Cross. The Way that leads to Life is straight and narrow. The Word of Life is Pure and Simple. If you love me, JESUS said, “keep my Words”.

    Thank you for sharing this Sister. Peace to you in the Beloved + + +

  4. As usual sister your right on! Right on as I was just reading about the original lie straight from the mouth of Satan, as he told Eve “you will not surely die”. How many today are following after doctrines of demons, sooth sayers, ouji boards, and evil spirits instead of following Christ. Thank you sister.
