Should Western Christians Join Foreign Militia’s ?

(Am Not Ashamed) This is causing a severe split in the body of Christ.  Christians are attacking each other in viscous ways.   I am going to look at  a controversial subject.  For just one moment let’s look at the facts and see what we come away with.  I am not condemning this nor condoning it, I am simply wanting to look at the facts.

The first thing that should be pointed out is what this video hints at.  And that is the confusion that these groups will cause in the end.  There is no organization, no central command, no rhyme or reason to structure.  The news media has taken to glamorizing the fight against ISIS.  While voices are being raised as to the social media sites that are glamorizing and radicalizing for ISIS, there are as many that are doing the same thing by advertising so called ‘Christian militia’s.’  I understand the helplessness, and the hopelessness we feel as we watch our brethren slaughtered minute by minute.  I understand the anger that this brings to our soul.  But when do we cross the line?  When do we become as evil as those we are against?  At least one Christian is organizing in a professional manner to provide aid, and assistance, including sharing the Gospel. (video below)   The viewpoint many veterans have is that the Kurdish people fought with America in Iraq and then we left them, leaving them vulnerable.   There has been a lot of attention lately given to the Vicar of Baghdad and the horrors he has witnessed, and if anyone should be angry he should be.

Canon Andrew White, the so-called “Vicar of Baghdad,” is urging Westerners not to join the Christian army, explaining that the group is “hopeless” against ISIS. (Read More)

Look at this child from Iraq.  When asked what she would do to ISIS given the chance, she said something that will surprise you.  Watch.

Pray for wisdom, guidance and knowledge from God.  Pray for discernment.  Pray for world leaders to take a stand and fight this evil in the world.  Pray for leaders to unite as one.  Jordan for one is willing to fight this cancer, and all leaders in the world should be behind them.  But they are absent.  The Kurdish people are fighting back, the Peshmerga are fighting back.

The Kurdish Peshmerga platoon of the newly-formed Joint Iraqi Security Company marches to class, Mosul, Iraq.

Some facts about the Peshmerga:

  • While the majority of the peshmerga forces are Muslims, there are also Christian and Yezidi units fighting under the direction of peshmerga forces.
  • The exact size of peshmerga forces is unknown as there are different estimates ranging from as few as 80,000 all the way up to 250,000.
  • Currently have 600 women in their ranks.
  • In 2003  took part in the overthrowing of the Saddam regime as part of the Iraq War.
  • The peshmerga force, like much of Iraqi Kurdistan, is plagued by frequent allegations of corruption, partisanship, nepotism and fraud.
  • As a result of the split nature of the peshmerga force, there is not a central command center in charge of the entire force, and peshmerga units instead follow separate military hierarchies depending on political allegiance.
  • As of January 2015, 12 out of the 36 brigades have reportedly been put under the controle of the KRG, with the remaining 70% of peshmerga forces still controlled by the regions’ two main parties.

Why not back them?  Why not send aid to them that can not be commandered and stolen by ISIS?

After the ISIS offensive of August 2014, multiple governments decided to arm the peshmerga with some light weaponry such as light arms, night goggles and ammunition.  However Kurdish officials and peshmerga have stressed that they are not receiving enough. They also stress that Baghdad is blocking even all arms from reaching the KRG, emphasizing the need for weapons to be sent directly to the KRG and not through Baghdad.

Why not monitor this?  Does the West care more about removing Assad from power than it does about the shedding of innocent blood?  I fear the answer to that is yes.  Pray for God’s mercy.

Here is a video about ‘Jeremiah’ one man  organizing a company  led by Christian’s who appear to be operating in Iraq that is actually helping.  The video has some excellent info about what is happening and how ISIS is operating.

So the facts are presented, it’s given to God, ask again for discernment. Pray for those truly trying to make a difference in the lives of these precious people.   And maybe we should be asking our Representatives why America is not doing more.

  1. Even if one is a Christian who has accepted the post-Nicene interpretation that it is acceptable to GOD to fight and kill in war, where will these groups receive the massive amount of support to continue.

From where will they receive tanks, Humvees, halftracks, and millions of rounds of ammunition? Remember, these groups, ISIS included are receiving millions of dollars of aid from the U.S. and its other partners. Even Hezbollah just received nearly 50 million dollars worth of heavy military hardware from the current administration.

Where will the militias receive support? ISIS and its offshoots and tentacles are the “killing machine” put in place by a group of very evil men to do just what they are doing. Their resources are almost limitless naturally speaking.

I know the various interpretations that have come down since the Nicene Council, so I won’t re-cover them here. Question is what happens to original Christianity? Where is the Power of GOD in all of this?

It’s like storing up food and supplies as many are advising, and then having plenty of guns and ammo to defend our food! What happens to the words of our Commander and Chief?

In case anyone is wondering, I do not accept post Nicene interpretations of the words of CHRIST and HIS Apostles. The Faith was “once for all delivered to the saints”. I don’t believe in situational ethics. to use a secular term.

May GOD help and protect ALL of HIS+ Children and help the Body of CHRIST not to be split and shattered again by doctrinal bickering. It is VERY embarrassing even now. CHRIST’S Words stand forever, They won’t change.

    In Christian Love + + +
