… BECAUSE you have heard  ME+.

This  is  the principle  for  answered prayer,  isn’t it ?

Listen to the Word of The LORD to Josiah, King of Judah,  so many years ago:

²⁶ And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him,

 

Thus saith the LORD GOD of Israel concerning the words

which thou hast heard;

²⁷ Because thine heart was tender,

and thou didst

humble thyself before GOD,

when thou

heardest  His  words

against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof,

and humbledst thyself before ME,

and didst rend thy clothes,

and weep before me;

 

I have even heard thee also,

saith the LORD.

The guiding principle for answered  prayer is to ALIGN ourselves  with  the Word of GOD.  Our LORD  JESUS  reveals  His+  Will for our lives  throughout the New Covenant,  but ESPECIALLY in Matthew chapters 5, 6, and 7. 

Are  we  KEEPING  and LIVING  those Words of Life,  truly, in  every area of our lives ? 

If NOT… then that will hinder our prayers.

~  ~  ~  A Plan of Action ~ ~ ~ 

We  all  have  UNanswered prayers  in our lives.  What, then is to be done about them ? 

We  cannot, like some advocate, simply “whip up”  our faith , grit our teeth and close our eyes, claiming, ” I believe I’m going to receive…. I believe I’m going to receive… ”  Nor can we  DEMAND  our will from The LORD.

NO.  The LORD has shown us a BETTER WAY.

Here is the promise:

1 John 5

¹⁴ And this is the confidence

that we have in HIM+,

that,

if we ask any thing

according to HIS+ WILL,

HE+ heareth us:

¹⁵ And if we know that HE+ hear us,

whatsoever we ask,

we know that we have the petitions

that we desired of HIM+.

His+  BETTER  way is this:  ALIGN OUR LIVES  with His+ Word.  

In  this way,  our prayers will   ALSO  align  themselves  with  His+  Will.   Those prayers WILL CHANGE and our eyes will be opened unto the Will of Our FATHER Who art in Heaven. 

When  we line ourselves up with His+ Word in all areas of our  lives, then HE+ moves.

We will have power in prayer  to change things…  according to HIS+ Will  .   And… in proportion to the  bringing  of our OWN  HEARTS  in line with His+ Perfect Will.

Sometimes, UN-answered prayers are designed  to  make us pay attention:  SOME thing is out of order with our time, our priorities, our desires. 

SOME  thing is  grieving the HOLY SPIRIT in what we are doing,  what we are thinking,  who we are spending time with,  our “entertainments”, and in short, our VALUE SYSTEM.

So,  if  frustration and lack of peace  is our  experience in  prayer,  then we need to TAKE HEED.

We need to RETURN to  Matthew 5, 6, and 7  and prayerfully consider EACH VERSE, each passage and MEASURE ourselves:  Are we  LIVING  that  verse,  that passage  IN OUR HEARTS, outwardly as well as inwardly,  and  IN OUR VALUE SYSTEM ?

If  not,  those areas  within our hearts are sorely in need of  over-hauling.  We need to REPENT and RE-COMMIT  our  selves to walking HIS+ Way …  not ours, not our family’s,  and not the world’s ways. 

Then  WAIT AND SEE  what happens !  The PEACE of GOD  will  come,  that PEACE that passes all understanding.   Our understanding of the Will of The LORD will increase  in all these dire situations we must face daily.   

And,  we will GROW in LOVE  for  our LORD JESUS CHRIST. 

That is the true goal,  isn’t it ?

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

² And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
