I rarely commit memorization of text but remember context via paraphrase. If we study the Bible frequently, the Holy One will open our minds to access the Holy database when our Bibles are lost to Fahrenheit 451.
I was shocked when I listened to hear Paul Begley reciting the entire last chapter of Malachi. Two years & three months ago (6 Sep 10), I had wept for a week as I read Malachi. Thereafter, I read the last OT prophet aloud everyday so often that I memorized chapter 4:1-6.
I was struck with fear, joy, sadness, and exciting anticipation. It seemed the LORD shared His empathy, sadness, regret, and . . . resolve. It came to me that the Last Day, the LORD will not utilize surrogates, proxies, instruments, or agents to bring on our punishment. ‘He will act when on that day’—SOON!
