Russian destroyer docks at Iranian port

The Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer has docked at Bandar Abbas port, continuing the Russian naval buildup in and around Syria and Iran, which was first reported by DEBKAfile Tuesday. In November, Russian Caspian Flotilla Commander Rear Adm. Sergei Alekminiski called for closer cooperation between Iranian and Russian naval forces.
