If We Suffer Trials Does That Mean We Have Little Faith?

“There are many opinions on suffering.  There are many  ministry’s that are growing in popularity.  They have increased their personal fortunes, by remaining silent in attacking sin and unrighteousness.  But the suffering in the Christian population of the world continues and is actually increasing.  Persecution of Christians in the world are at all time high numbers.  In the west, honor killings continue, and attacks on Christianity are increasing by attacks on those who speak out, dis-information, propaganda, and belittling.  Insults abound, some  say don’t hurt anyone’s feelings, don’t scare them, we can’t preach against sin, we can’t point out someone is  lying.  Oh we just can’t do that.  Some say that our Faith isn’t strong, if we’re suffering financially or physically.  Or they say, your not giving enough money to God.   Well I’m going to quit and let the Bible speak for itself.  This is what Peter has to say about suffering.  Again, I’m not going to comment or try to interpret, just the facts. We should comfort one another with these words.  And stand up as prayer partners with the persecuted, and speak the truth in the face of unrighteousness!”

Suffering For Being A Christian

1 Peter 4: 12-19

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.  But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His Glory is revealed.  If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of Glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.  However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.  For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?  And, if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?  So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
