I didn’t really want to write about this.  I have many friends in the past who are gay and lesbians.  I loved them dearly as friends.  They seemed to be full of love and laughter, and they had a genuine love for God.  So I struggled with their idea’s and what God said about it, so I buried it, and turned it to God.  God will judge this I said, and I didn’t know their heart, only God know’s this.  Now each of these friends knew my stance on Gay and Lesbian relationships, so they knew I was not proud of that.  The reason I am writing about this is because of the recent article by Rob Bell.  Here is what he said, then we’ll talk about it:

“I think we’re witnessing the death of a particular subculture that doesn’t work,” he said. ” … [W]e have supported policies and ways of viewing the world that are actually destructive. And we’ve done it in the name of God and we need to repent.”

Ok, he said that we need to repent.  He was speaking here of evangelical’s viewing Gay marriage and that we need to repent.  Really?  We need to repent.  Well I still intend for this to be written in love, so I will just go to the Bible to see what it actually says about a gay or lesbian relationship.

Biblical Scriptures That Say That Homosexuality Is A Sin

Let’s start with Genesis 19.  Everyone knows the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and why it was destroyed.  There is one verse in here that say’s it all.  Verse 4-5 (speaking of the Angels that had come to rescue Lot)  ‘Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom-both young and old-surrounded the house.  They called to Lot, Where are the men who came to you tonight?  Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.’

Any doubt why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed?  Ok let’s move on to Leviticus 18:22

• Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable.

Now if you move down to verse 24 it tells why not to do this.

• Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled.  Even the land was defiled so I punished it for it’s sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.  But you must keep my decrees and my laws.

Then God reiterates this in verse 29:

• Everyone who does any of these detestable things-such persons must be cut off from their people.  Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them.  I am the Lord your God.

Ok, moving along to 1Corinthians 6:9-10:

• Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
• nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Ok, moving along to 1 Corinthians 10:8:

• We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did-and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.

Finally, we end with Jesus’s words in Luke 17:26-30

• Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.  People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark.  Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
• It was the same in the days of Lot.  People were eating, and drinking, buying, and selling, planting and building.  But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.  It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

This has been a very hard post for me to write.  It tears at my heart.  Because of all the people it affects.  God loves everyone, but He doesn’t love the sin of homosexuality.  It’s wrong.  His word say’s it’s wrong, and it’s very explicit.  Rob Bell, Hillary Clinton, obama, oprah, and all the rest that are saying this is good and we can allow homosexual marriage are the ones that need to repent.  I feel sorry for them, the Bible is clear about what will happen to them.  And as we learned these people who insist on defiling themselves in this manner shall ‘be cut off from their people.’  God’s judgements have been decreed on America.  He gave us ample chance to speak out and turn this evil away, yet we just keep running full speed toward the evil and away from God.  Now it’s time to prepare, for judgement is coming. Praying for all.
