This is a question many of us have after we suffer great loss in our lives. How can a just God allow us to be so distraught if he is a God Of Love and wants what’s best for us.
The best example we are given from scripture is found in the book of Job.This man
loses his 7 sons and 3 daughters all at one time.To lose just one child is devastating, but all 10 of your children at once, and if that’s not enough also your servants & animals!
We see in Job chapter 1 that satan is present and is waiting at the sidelines to take what he can from Job…..or any of us for that matter…….(For satan came to kill, steal, and destroy–John 10:10),and how does Job handle this situation in his life?
Jobs answer:”Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither:the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away;blessed be the name of the Lord.
In all this Job sinned not,nor charged God foolishly.(Job 1:21,22).
The following chapters are full of so many questions Job has for God and he is given many answers, that we too can apply to our lives. We see that Job was a man that feared God and eschewed(avoids)evil.(Job 1:1)………….In the final chapter of Job we see his life of obedience to God and is “Blessed twice as much”in the end of his life! He’s given 7 sons and 3 daughters and his animals multiplied. WHY? Because he repented and then prayed for his friends who most of his life shunned his advice.(Job 42:6,7,10).
Moral of this story is to walk in the “Fear Of The Lord”at all times,to shun evil and be an obedient servant for Christ no matter what the cost! Friends and family may not understand,Job’s own wife did’nt(Job 2:9,10)”For do I now persuade men,or God? or do I seek to please men?for if I yet pleased men,I should not be the servant of Christ.(Galatians 1:10).The narrow road is a lonely road at times, but the end of it leads you to “Eternal Life”!
God Bless ALL who choose to follow Christ,For our God is Faithful to keep his promises to us……………Should not we keep our promises to him and be obedient, eschew evil and fear him who is the keeper of all life!

Catherine yes, many unfortunately don’t have God or Christ in their lives, and that’s why they think there is no God during suffering. I pray daily for God to show himself to these people. Even through suffering the Apostles praised God, and that is something that I have had to learn the hard way. I used to be one of those that blamed God for everything. Then I realized the hard way that God was always there with me, so I tried to begin praising Him even through difficulty and suffering. I must say it’s easier that way. God bless you Catherine.

Catherine……..I will not say life is easy, for it’s not and that is why we have a Lord and Saviour we can call on who knows the cry of our hearts in quiet desperation!People sometimes are so caught up in their problems and have no time for others,But God has the time 24/7 to heal a troubled spirit and knows what a broken heart feels like, because he sent his ONLY son to hang on a cross for us.An earlier comment said to Praise God through the difficult times….It is Hard I know, but remember the great earthquake that opened the prison doors after much praise.
“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and “THAT WE MUST THROUGH MUCH TRIBULATION ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.(Acts 14:22).I pray God will strengthen you through this difficult time in your life.God Bless You Catherine.

My favorite Job quote: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”
We need more of that kind of trust in Christianity. today.
