Today I read an article from Assyrian National News Agency about the global slaughter of Christians while the churches in the west remain silent.  Here is a quote from that article:  “Christians in the Middle East and Africa are being slaughtered, tortured, raped, kidnapped, beheaded, and forced to flee the birthplace of Christianity. One would think this horror might be consuming the pulpits and pews of American churches. Not so. The silence has been nearly deafening.”

Yesterday I read a short post on facebook (8thirty8) about Christians in Egypt, and looked at a picture of Christians worshipping in a bombed out building.  And I couldn’t get that image out of my mind.  The Christians in the middle east are coming together in any place they can find, just to strengthen one another and worship and praise God.  All sorts of things came to mind.  Images of churches here where people come together in huge plush buildings, with coffee shops, padded seats and benches, some even have tattoo and massage parlors in them.  They are air conditioned, heated and have all the comforts of a plush arena.  This is the new marketing tool for the church.  Let’s make it entertaining so we can draw a large crowd.  They have low lighting, state of the art sound systems, large screens that project the image of a ‘Blessed preacher’.  The money flows.  They raise their hands singing and dancing to the ‘New’ music, and they call this worship.  They talk about love, and how much God will bless them, and all about what God will do for them.  And we wonder why the church is silent?  If they really spoke out, and showed these images and spoke the truth about what it’s like to truly follow Christ, they know they would have no worshippers.  It makes me ill.  I find myself apologizing to God for my requests in my prayers, in light of what our Brothers and Sisters are going through.  WAKE UP!  THE TRIBULATION IS HAPPENING!  And all the body of Christ is worried about is what will I wear to church?  If you think that you are worshipping God in this atmosphere you are wrong.  It will be as Jesus warned in Revelation 3.  He is about to spew you out of His mouth.

These dear brother’s and sister’s are faced with tribulation like we have never known.  They are experiencing the same things the Apostles and early Christians faced, yet they come together, not to ask God what He can do to increase their riches, but to praise His name!  And follow Him even unto death.  SHAME ON US!  Pray without ceasing for our brother’s and sister’s, and make some noise pastors, if you don’t you may find yourself on the wrong side of Jesus as He separates the goats from the sheep.  Mathew 25:33:

“All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. 34“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.…
