Saudi Sheikh Has This ‘Scientific’ Warning: Driving Affects Women’s Pelvises and Ovaries

My Comment:  I would like to know why the women’s rights groups are silent on the persecution of women in the middle east.  And remember this is the same religion that endorses the drinking of camel urine to prevent disease.  Yes they do, read here.

(The Blaze) As women in Saudi Arabia prepare to challenge the kingdom’s ban on female driving next month, a leading Saudi cleric is warning women that driving could damage their ovaries and pelvises and could result in babies born with medical problems.

Sheikh Saleh bin Saad al-Luhaydan, decribed by Reuters as “one of Saudi Arabia’s top conservative clerics” warns that driving “rolls up the pelvis.”

A consultant to the Gulf Psychological Association, al-Luhaydan issued this warning about female driving in an interview published on the website sabq.org on Friday: “Physiological science and functional medicine studied this side [and found] that it automatically affects ovaries and rolls up the pelvis. This is why we find for women who continuously drive cars their children are born with clinical disorders of varying degrees.”

Women who want to be permitted to drive should place “reason ahead of their hearts, emotions and passions,” he said.

The sheikh’s comments have drawn ridicule on Twitter, including jeers at his “great scientific discoveries.”

  2. Ugh, this guy gives obama a run for his money…can we say oppression of women. Women are not permitted outside the house without “written” permission from her Husband if married, if not married, her father, brother or uncle(or closest related male); she must be compliant to sharia law (if recognized strictly in the reigion) and specifics of trip….talking to no strangers; to designation and back home.
If, a woman does drive in the middle east; she probably has special exception! Otherwise, BIG no, no. God bless

    • Blessings to you sister. This is a huge problem one that is swept under the rug by leaders and media. Most ordinary people even Pastors don’t believe this is happening. They think it’s just a story, or doesn’t affect anyone. What a sad thing, I don’t know which is worse the persecution of women or the silence from the west! Praying for women and children in these area’s.
