“THE COVENANT OF BETTER PROMISE”

The very first Covenant God made was with Noah a righteous and just man after deciding to destroy the earth through a flood,due to the unending violence of man.(Genesis 6:13,17). “And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life,from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee shall I establish my Covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark. thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee”.

(Genesis 6:17,18).

Then God’s second Covenant was made with Abraham,whose Covenant brought with it a promise he would be the father of many nations. “And I will make my Covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my Covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee”.

(Genesis 17:2-5).

We learn through Faith that we are the children of Abrahams seed by promise. “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male not female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM’S SEED, and heirs according to promise”.(Galatians 3:26-29).(Acts 13:26).

Although God spoke to Moses to build him a sanctuary for him to dwell in by the pattern he would say, he knew of the provision that would be accomplished through his Son Jesus Christ after many generations.It would be the “New Covenant” of which he would be the High Priest and a True Tabernacle not built with hands,but through the Holy Spirit in the Body of Christ! “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments therof, even so shall ye make it”.(Exodus 25:8,9).

“THE NEW COVENANT”

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched (Built) , and not man. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he the mediator of a BETTER COVENANT, which was established upon better promises. For if that first Covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing.But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building”.(Hebrews 8:1,2,6,7)……..(Hebrews 9:8,11).

We now see that the old tabernacle (Building) served it’s purpose at the time,but was only a figure af the TRUE Tabernacle Christ would fulfil with the sacrifice of himself which his blood would cleanse the sins of many through repentance. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true: but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us”.(Hebrews 9:24).

Through the shed blood at the cross Jesus purchased his Church of the firstborn and we as Believers are a part of the many membered church. “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven,and to God the Judge of all, and to the Spirits of just men made perfect. And to Jesus the mediator of the New Covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”.(Hebrews 12:23,24).

“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood”.(Acts 20:28).

“Howbeit the most high dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? Hath not my hand made all these things?

(Acts:48-50).

The NEW COVENANT is written on the hearts and minds of those who accept the truth of this word. .(Hebrews 10:16,17).

WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD (1 Corinthians 3:16,17).
