There Are Two Things That Are Causing Confusion In The Church And The Body Of Christ

dreamstime_m_26131219confusion

I will use 2 terms here, that I feel is taking over the church, and the Body of Christ.  The first being the term “Politically Correct.”

I think we all know the definition of this term.  But did you know that it wasn’t used in America in the English language until the late 20th Century?  And did you know this?  “In the early-to-mid 20th century, contemporary uses of the phrase “Politically Correct” were associated with the dogmatic application of Stalinist doctrine, debated between formal Communists (members of the Communist Party) and Socialists. The phrase was a colloquialism referring to the Communist “party line“, which provided for “correct” positions on many matters of politics.”

So we have again the use of the terms and propaganda of the socialist/communist party.  And it’s growing!  The Church has even adopted this concept, with it’s teaching’s and support of the sins of the day such as homosexual marriage.  Now all of a sudden it’s a sin to denounce homosexuality.  I can understand the hate laws that came into effect for homosexuality, race and religious affiliations, because no one group should be persecuted.  But our beliefs are not hatred, no matter how much they want to portray it that way.  Even our Church leaders, like the Pope, and the Dean of the National Cathedral.  The National Cathedral is Episcopalian by the way, and it’s dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul.  Can you just imagine what they think of the Church named for them?  Can you just imagine what Jesus thinks about His Church?

Ok then we have Exegesis:

Exegesis (from the Greek ἐξήγησις from ἐξηγεῖσθαι ‘to lead out’) is a critical explanation or interpretation of a text, especially a religious text. Traditionally the term was used primarily for exegesis of the Bible; however, in contemporary usage it has broadened to mean a critical explanation of any text, and the term “biblical exegesis” is used for greater specificity.

While I do agree to an extent it’s important to look at some aspects of who God was speaking to in the Bible, but to build a whole doctrine on this is not Biblical.  God say’s time and again the purpose of speaking to the prophets.  He say’s ‘I do nothing without revealing it to my servants the prophets.’  He say’s ‘I make the end known from the beginning.’

I’m not here to debate the scholars and how they ‘interpret’ the Bible.  I was told by someone when I first started delving into prophecy, “Find one man and follow everything he says or you will be confused.”  Well being the hard headed Berean that I am, that didn’t sit well with me.  I am reminded of a violent period in History that was that way.  The Church!  The Church in the middle ages did just that. (See Reformation)  They were the only ones who had Bibles.  They read them in Latin.  And they fed the flock only what they wanted them to hear, they ‘interpreted’ every scripture.  Then along came the men of the likes of Martin Luther, John Calvin,& John Wycliffe.

Martin Luther was a Catholic Priest who led by the Holy Spirit, marched up to the door of the church and nailed his 95 Thesis to the door, and the rest is history.  Many died during this period trying to give us freedom to read the Bible for ourselves, many died translating the Bible for us.  They gave us a precious gift.  The right to read God’s word for ourselves.  Not to take a man’s interpretation.

And what do we do with that gift?  We throw it away and follow off after any and all sorts of ‘men’s interpretation.’  In our churches are big huge screens with scripture projected, many of us never open a Bible.  Or there are some who take their Bible to church and then never open it again during the week.  Or they write the interpretation of a man in the passages.

We need to learn how to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and then read the Bible.  I can’t even begin to tell you the story of how God guided me.  I took a very interesting journey.  I would read the Bible, then I would be off to the Library looking up names, and cities, then the computer, then the encyclopedia’s it would take me hours to get back to the Bible.  But God always led me in the right direction.  He even led me to evangelists, and pastors, and scholars.  But just because he led me there, that didn’t mean he guided me to believe everything they said.  I often found myself praying and searching scriptures and found some of the scholars wrong!  I debated the book of Revelation and the prophecy there with my Father who is very learned.  He, frustrated with me, said, ‘Are you going to go against thousands of scholars and their opinion?’  I said ‘Yes, if it doesn’t fit in the scriptures.’  And I left it at that, but because I questioned him with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he called about a year later and said, you know, you were right.  I said no, I wasn’t God was.  I really didn’t expect that, but that just show’s you what God can do when he sets His mind to guiding you.

So open your Bibles, stop listening to the ‘Politically correct, exegetic men’  and take a journey with God, as a Berean, and you will be surprised where the Holy Spirit leads you!

Time is short, so begin your journey now!  All it takes is one little seed in your mind, and God will grow it into everlasting Truth!

  1. When I studied confusion in the scripture
it came down to two things – a mixing and
A lot of talk. I was told many people are confused
when it comes to the bible – and, like the article said, they need to be taught how to walk along with the Holy Spirt, through the word of God.
Not with a mixing of man made ideas with
Scripture, this subject has been on my mind all
morning Then I saw your post 🙂
    God bless you

  2. ‘Christians’ had better read the old texts now (KJV/GNV) than sips of saccharin milk of flashes on a white screen. If they wish to know Jesus’ voice and remain in His hand (John 10:27-28), don’t expect truth from the shepherds and the heresy of ‘PC bibles’, aka ‘Parsimony Chaos babel’.
