Jesus is known as the rock of offence, his words are offensive to the sinner yet it is his words that will bring the sinner to repentance and to those who follow his way it is their saving grace and they are not ashamed! “As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For if bt one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgement came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life”.(Romans 5:17,18……9:33).
When Jesus said I and my Father are one, he was with God from the very beginning of the foundations of the world and in Moses day as well. “MOREOVER, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ”.
(1 Corinthians 10:1-4).
When God judges the nations he will abase the haughtiness of the proud looks of man, and exalt the humble of heart. The wrong unrighteous acts will no longer bear rule within the earth and men serving the works of their hands will finally end so only the righteousness of God will be. “Their land is also full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not. Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the hautiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low”.(Isaiah 2:8-12).
The tabernacle of God is as a covering of his wings and he is the Rock we can be hid in at times of trouble. “Hear my cry , O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah”.(Psalm 61:1-4).
Man is so set in the old ways the forefather’s served God it is not easy for them to see Christ himself has become the Cornerstone of the blood bought church he has purchased by the shed blood of the cross and his people now follow him through the Holy Spirit and not by the works of their hands. He has become a rock of offense to those who are without this understanding. It is this truth that Christ is talking about that set’s us free from the bondage of serving God in the old letter of the law which is no longer in place, for we are now under grace and the mercy of God! “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded (confused). Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy”.(1 Peter 2:6-10).
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us Selah.(Psalm 62:5-8).

GOD listens to all prayers but HE pays attion to those that are sincere . However those who know you after the flesh will not listen to you . SO let someone else do it for you . this wisdom comes from your creator not me. And dont be there when this person trys to explan it to them . YOUR prayer was sincere , SO this is what you need to do now its up to you

Slenette………Your comment has given you part of your answer and by that I mean you have sought out FOR YOURSELF council from the word of God for a solution to a problem. The problem with a Jehovah Witness is they bring their teaching to you and are in your face which Christ did not do, people sought him out and sat to listen. Sure he spoke up when he needed to if his Fathers word was not being carried out as seen in the passage of him overturning the money changers in the temple. You have done well and are in line with the word when you say they quote scripture not in line with the word of God for God already knew this would happen ahead of time.
(Revelation 22:18,19).
This is where I would start before confronting them Sleneete…..Pray and talk to your Heavenly Father and let him know what’s weighing heavy on your heart and mind and ask him to go before you as you open the word of God to your Sister and her son and let them know you love them, but are concerned of their doctrine not found in scripture. They will probably give you the passages like Mark 16:15 that they are to go into all the world and preach the gospel, but this means in due season,not knocking on doors but who we meet in our every day walk of life we share the word with others.(Proverbs 15:23). Tell them you cannot believe in their message that is not in line with the word of God that you follow. The word of God is our protection,but when it is taken out of context as Jehovah witnesses do it grieves the Holy Spirit. We are offered the whole armour found in Ehpesians 6:10-19 for a reason…The battle is God’s over rebellious hearts and minds and you Slenette are a light in a world of darkness where people will wrest (twist) the word to their own destruction.(2 Peter 3:16-18). I understand the pain of seeing a family member on the wrong road, But remember there is the family of God and the family of man and Jesus taught this message when he said who is my Mother and brethren for it is whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is his brother, sister and Mother. I only have one question, IF GOD or JESUS came and was crucifyed and resurrected . AT that time we should have eternal life in our bodys. THE scriptures says then death will be no more . we will receive it on earth and enjoy it in HEAVEN. IF we do not have it now its still in the future .

Thank You Julia for the Word of God which comes from the Holy Spirit….I need help I have a sister and her son who are Jehovah Witness both quote scriptures that are not the Word of God…I donot want to argue because I love them very much…can you give me a scripture and pr prayer I can read and say to help me pray for them and myself…MAY THE LORD KEEP BLESSING YOU!
