Those who follow Christ receive his truth that to them is the word of God, and we suffer because of it. God’s people are not alone for the world has always fought for it’s own way just as the Believer fights the Good Fight of Faith for Christs way. The prophets and followers of truth have long been persecuted. Paul knew who was trying to hinder him from getting the truth out to the people as his own words tell us: “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but satan hindered us.
(1 Thessalonians 2:18).
Paul did many great works for the kingdom of God, He worked many miracles among the Gentiles of his day.”Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them”.(Acts 15:12….19:11,12).
What world do people think Jesus walked through as he spoke the will of his Father? It is the very world we now live in and as he was persecuted when he passed through this life we as his followers are treated no different! If we know for a fact satan does not like Jesus why would we think it’s a cake walk to get to heaven and spend eternity with the one who has called us to his kingdom?
“That you would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe”.(1 Thessalonians 2:12,13).
The same that tempted Jesus after he had fasted forty days and nights then offered him all this world has if he would bow down and worship him, is the same devil that works 24/7 to steer all who love God to his pit! Yes I know we live in the world and how can we not be a part of it………It’s not living here Jesus is talking about it is the ways a person chooses to live his or her life, while they have their breath. Do we do as everyone else and fear being ridiculed by others or do we realize all God says in his word is the truth and there is a heaven and hell? That there will be a day all we have lived for will be brought before the Judgement seat of a Righteous and Just God. The cares of this life is not worth forfeiting your soul for all eternity. The devices of satan are forever at work in the world hoping to take captive anyone who will allow him at his will. “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will”.(2 Timothy 2:24-26).
God is all powerful and his Son has overcome the world, therefore there’s no device satan has that can bind us with if we through Faith look to God and live for him and under the shadow of his protection. “He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the council of the froward (Uncontrolled) is carried headlong”.(Job 5:12,13).

Thanks Julia. We are not of the world, I realize that more everyday. Thank God He called us out of it, I feel more and more like a stranger in a strange land. Thank God we know we’re not alone, Jesus walked this way before us, and if we keep our eyes focused on Him we will make it through. Many blessings to you!
