My comment:  I didn’t report on this when it first happened, but this story quickly went viral.  The Pakistani police department arrested an entire family (including a baby)  and charged them  with attempting to murder a policeman, as the description below depicts.  This show’s how corrupt the police and justice systems in Pakistan are.  This is not the first picture we get of this corrupt system.  They use their power and the system as tools of revenge.  The same as they have been doing with their Blasphemy laws against Christians, and other religious minorities.  This story gained the attention of the world as videos of this Baby made the rounds being fingerprinted.  Human rights are violated there on a huge scale, this is just one example.

A Pakistani judge has thrown out charges of attempted murder against a nine-month-old baby, in a case that has cast a spotlight on Pakistan’s dysfunctional justice system.

Baby Musa Khan appeared in court in the city of Lahore, with his adult relatives. The whole family were charged with attempting to murder a policeman after his family clashed with police and gas company workers trying to collect overdue bills.

Defense lawyer Irfan Sadiq told reporters that the nomination of Musa in the case of attacking police and gas company officials was a human error and Musa was not required by them.

“The court stated that police had said that they did not want to arrest the child. So, now that there is no apprehension of arrest, and we know that the police does not want to arrest him, we have withdrawn the bail application,” Mr Sadiq said.

The baby’s grandfather, Muhammad Yasin, who still face the charges along with his three sons, said he feared a backlash from the police and from the land mafia group who had initiated the case.

“After this, if any harm befalls my grandson, or any family member of ours, it will be from the police and from the land-mafia group. The police will be responsible for it,” Yasin said.

The farcical scenes in the court last week in which the howling baby was fingerprinted for bail were repeatedly shown on local television channels, prompting Punjab’s Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to intervene and order a report from the Inspector General of police.
