There are protests in Israel over the possibility that the complex that houses King Davids Tomb will be handed over to the Vatican. This has been ongoing for some time. The top floor of this complex is said to be where Jesus and the disciples celebrated Passover before Christ was crucified. This is significant to Christians. King David’s Tomb is not only significant for Jew’s but Christians as well.

• Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? (John 7:42)
• But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah,the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:5)

Matthew chapter 1 gives us the lineage of Jesus.  So this is of great significance not only to Jew’s but Christians as well.  I can totally understand the hesitation of Jewish groups who follow the letter of the law.  They feel that they would no longer be allowed to pray at David’s Tomb with what they refer to as ‘Idol worship’ going on above them.  I fully understand all the opinions of those who are not Catholic.  I understand the references to idol worship.  I can also understand concern from the Jews.  Remember what God did when the Israelites made a golden Calf?  And the Old Testament is replete with examples of worshiping idols and other God’s and the punishment for that.  From Baal worship to King Solomon allowing his wives to erect temples to other god’s.

I also understand that the Jewish population does not accept Jesus as Messiah.  Another thing that isn’t clear is the current situation on the Temple Mount.  There has always been a Jewish Temple on this site until 70 AD when the Romans destroyed the 2nd Temple.  Then around 600 BC the current occupiers took over.  Now, there is a strong push for the Pope to unite the Muslim, Jew and Christian into one belief system.  This is just not possible.  Jew’s and Christians are from the same lot if you will.  This is explained in Romans.  We are grafted into their vine.  We believe in the same God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  The Muslims do not.   I believe Jesus said it best.

• O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
• See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (John 7:42)
• But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (Revelation 11:2)

The Bible gives a clear picture of what it will be like in the day of the return of the Messiah in Zechariah 14.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The Mount of Olives is one of three peaks of a mountain ridge which runs for 3.5 kilometres (2.2 miles) just east of Old Jerusalem across the Kidron Valley, in this area called the Valley of Josaphat.

Har HaZeitim) is a mountain ridge east of and adjacent to the Jerusalem’s Old City. It is named for the olive grovesthat once covered its slopes. The southern part of the Mount was the necropolis of the ancient Judean kingdom. The Mount has been used as a Jewish cemetery for over 3,000 years, and holds approximately 150,000 graves, making it central in the tradition of Jewish cemeteries. Several key events in the life of Jesus as related in the Gospels took place on the Mount of Olives, and in the Book of Acts it is described as the place from which Jesus ascended to heaven. Because of its association with both Jesus and Mary, the Mount has been a site of Christian worship since ancient times and is today a major site of Christian pilgrimage for Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christians.

At the foot of the Mount of Olives lies the Garden of Gethsemane. The New Testament, tells how Jesus and his friends sang together – “When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives” Gospel of Matthew 26:30. Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mt of Olives as recorded in the book of Acts 1:9–12.

God is also very clear about the dividing of Jerusalem, when he brings the Jews back into their land.

• When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; (Ezekiel 39:27)
• And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: (Ezekiel 37:22)

So one thing that is becoming clear is that the world and man made religions are fighting for control of the Holy Sites in Jerusalem, I saw a picture of the Garden Tomb with  the words   “He is not here, He is risen!”

Sometimes God just say’s wait.  He say’s ‘Be still and know that I am God.’  So all the plans of dividing Jerusalem between the PA, Hamas, the PLO, Israel, is for naught.  God has his own plans.  And His plans will be carried out regardless of what man does.  It does make one wonder though why the man who has become known to most of the world as the leader of Christendom (the Pope)  would want to make a deal with those who worship another god, in the name of  unity (Chrislam).

The Pope’s upcoming visit to Israel will start with a visit to the PA, &  has been described by those close to him as a self-described Che Geuvera.

So the Pope will see himself as a ruthless revolutionary rebel.  And why the world is pushing for this unity.  It’s simple really, Revelation answers it simply.

• And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Revelation 13:11)

So if things seem a bit confusing God is not the author of confusion.  One of the verses I read often in Revelation is

• But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. (Revelation 10:7)

This proves there is nothing new, God knows every inch of what is going on today, He know’s who the players are, He know’s what the players will do.  He is orchestrating every bit of it, not man.  What we must do is study to shew ourselves approved.
