Who is willing to put their hand to the plow and not look back? We are no different than the people throughout the generations who are called to follow God! When Jesus was calling his disciples and one said let me go home first and say goodbye, was that the right answer? Jesus reply rings true, are we going to have an excuse as to why we don’t have time to follow him, will we say we have something left undone and to call on us at a later time? Will the answer be the flesh offers more than the Spirit? “And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God“.(Luke 9:61,62).
The world keeps one busy and when we choose to answer the call on our life we then stand out as very different, the element’s of the world drown out the small still voice of God which guides us into all truth our soul need’s. The soul then returns o the bondage it was called away from. “Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain”.(Galatians 4:8-11).
The high calling of God is to leave what we are doing at the time and realize the one who made heaven and earth and the fullness thereof has the ability to keep those who say Here Am I Lord, send me as we read in the vision of Isaiah. “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed”.(Isaiah 6:8-10).
Now do we press on in that which will not last? “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you”.(Philippians 3:13-15).
Some still struggle after leaving the cares of the world and placing them in the hands of Christ, as though to return to the world can accomplish more than the infinite power of God. This way of thinking does not place the strong faith we need to handle the battles life gives us as the Galatians were told. “This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”.(Galatians 3:2,3).

Albert………………What a most fitting passage you have given here. The patience of God as people live contrary to him is admirable, but repentance is the only thing that brins him closest to any one of us. God Bless You Brother. Great Comment.

Isaiah 55:
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;
7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
