I watched a 5 minute report on Iraq tonight, from NBC,  and it broke my heart.  It is being reported that we are contemplating placing troops on the ground in a rescue mission.  A mission to rescue the Yazidi refugee’s fleeing Mt. Sinjar.  The reporter interviewed refugees and their stories of horror and terror broke my heart.  One man’s eye’s wide explained the abandoned bodies, on the road, and cried into his handkerchief as he described the unmitigating horror he witnessed.  Horror that no human should ever witness, far beyond the horrors of war.  An evil described by others as raping their women, and beheading their children.  Yes, this is happening, and it’s happening today.  All the politically correct and those who wish to cover this up won’t be able to take away these images of innocent’s being attacked by demonic forces straight from hell.  And that is not hyperbole, that is what it is.  Never has modern civilization witnessed since horror, not since WW2 has so much evil been unleashed on the world.  Many are describing it as a ravenous beast, while still others are describing them as murderous, and evil.  There are no words to describe what we are seeing.

The reporter spent only a few seconds on the man describing the fate of children beheaded.  He only asked in horror and shock ‘these were children’?!  Then one man told the reporter he fought with US contingencies when they were there fighting and then made a simple statement “I fought with the US, and then you left us.”  How heartbreaking.

This beast is described in the Bible, first in Daniel chapter 7:

“After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. “While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.

Then in Revelation 13:

 Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadem crowns, and on its heads a blasphemous name. ² Now the beast that I saw was like a leopard, but its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority to rule. ³ One of the beast’s heads appeared to have been killed, but the lethal wound had been healed. And the whole world followed the beast in amazement; ⁴ they worshiped the dragon because he had given ruling authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast too, saying: “Who is like the beast?” and “Who is able to make war against him?” ⁵ The beast was given a mouth speaking proud words and blasphemies, and he was permitted to exercise ruling authority for forty-two months. ⁶ So the beast opened his mouth to blaspheme against God—to blaspheme both his name and his dwelling place, that is, those who dwell in heaven. ⁷ The beast was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them. He was given ruling authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation, ⁸ and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed. ⁹ If anyone has an ear, he had better listen!

This requires steadfast endurance and faith from the saints.

Say what you want, but this is what we are seeing today with ISIS, Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-queda, the Taliban, Al Nusra, Al Shabab, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Army of Islam.  It’s time to pray.
