There are people we say have made a name for themselves, and by the good they do their acts are fondly known. So whats in a name? And is it important to keep a name in a good light? According to scripture it is a very valuable asset for one to have good attached to their name! (Proverbs 22:1) A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
The following passage tells us what an honor it is to be known by a very wonderful and mighty name who is our Lord. (Jeremiah 15:15-16) O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Jesus is known as the word and it is by what he stands for, do nations rise and fall. When he returns he will rule with a rod of iron and will be the most powerful name known as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! (Revelation 19:11-16). And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

I could not help but think of Revelation 2:17, where our LORD+ will give unto them who overcome to eat of the Hidden Manna, ( I am filled with wonder! ), and will give to them a White Stone ( more wonder!) and in the Stone a NEW NAME written which no one will know except the one who receives it!
A New Name which we will bear into Eternity, into the New Heavens and the New Earth, into the New Jerusalem, before our LORD+ as we serve HIM+ forever.
That new Name has to be Good, because it comes from HIM+.
When we think of the Glory that is to be revealed, and which we have from HIM+ as Immutable promises to those who follow HIM+ and obey HIS Voice, it makes this world fade into relative insignificance.
Sometimes it seems that this is “battleground earth”, but the Day is coming when the battle and the whole war will be over and put down, and our Precious LORD+ will Reign on the earth “with a Rod of Iron” as the Scripture above noted, and will destroy the gross darkness that covers the earth with the brightness of HIS+ Appearing.
