I started this post in Feb. of last year, in anticipation that another year would not go by without release of Pastor Saeed. The first paragraph is the start, the rest is from today. Jan. 16, 2016
As I read the headlines for the last few day’s even President Obama’s remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast. Where he highlighted one of Christianities brave saints Pastor Saeed Abidini. Then I read that the State Department was finally standing behind him and his family and encouraging his wife to speak out against Human Rights Abuses, and then I read that John Kerry was to meet with Iran in Germany on Sat. For the first time a glimmer of light appeared that indeed we would see Pastor Saeed freed and once again on American soil.
And then that light soon faded, as a deal was signed with Iran, and no mention of Saeed’s release, and hope grew dim. Darkness overtaking even his family. But the Body of Christ didn’t give up. We rolled up our sleeves and went to work. We went Boldly before the Throne of God. Our prayers never stopped, we never stopped believing in God’s power, power to protect, heal and free Pastor Saeed. The sleepless nights, the thoughts of his captors torturing him, the tears shed on behalf of his family, all were put to rest today.
As Iran was announcing that US sanctions would be released today, I held my breath and again cried out-What About The Americans?? It was only an hour later that news broke about the release of Pastor Saeed, and 4 others. Of course the talking heads are very busy with what appears to be a prisoner swap for their release. I don’t care how they paint it, how they say it happened, who they say made it happen, GOD’S HAND WAS SHOWN. God did this. As the world slides into chaos and war, He showed His hand. He delivered His people from the hands of tormentors. He did this. All Glory is His.
God is still performing Miracles today. I have only one thing more to say: WELCOME HOME, PASTOR SAEED, JOB WELL DONE! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU. You will never know the hope, the Faith, the strength you gave to the Body of Christ while you were in prison suffering. You will never know how many lives you touched, and those whose faith was renewed as you encouraged others during your suffering. “Well done, thou good and faithful Servant.”
